Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, light herby. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, some caramel, lemon. Light and crisp body. This would make a great session beer! BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Mar 7, 2005 Light golden and clear with minimal head. Aroma was lightly malty with some citrus and a little herbs. Has some caramel sweetness but perfectly balanced with the hops. Refreshing, clean and crisp, and well built ale. 5000 (2400), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA May 14, 2005 Bottle: Golden, minor haze, mediocre frothy white head, decent lacing, moderate carbonation. Minor hop, citrus, subtle graininess on the nose. Fairly hop assertive start, mellows quickly. Grainy aspect is barely noticeable on the tongue. Very slight diacytl emerges at the finish, but not enough to detract. Average body and mouthfeel. Soft citrus like bitterness lingers. Pretty good stuff this is! Easily sessionable at 3.8%.
Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Mar 8, 2005 Straw colour. Light citric ale with breezy pale malt notes. Fresh pale malt character - soft with mild citrus notes. Moderate bitterness. Great balance, very fresh-tasting, wonderfully refreshing. Not billed as such, but an excellent English-style golden ale.
