Thanks to hopdog. Pours a hazy golden amber with large chunks of floaties. Average off white foamy head that left nice lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine and a sweet maltiness and great aroma. Flavor along the same lines as the aroma but not as well presented. Was smooth and blended though.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with DarkElf (thanks!). Poured a medium and hazy golden-amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Large floaters. Aromas of orange peel, citrus, and pine. Tastes of caramel, citrus, and had a light honey sweetness to it. Hoppier in the aromas than the tastes. Some lacing left on the glass. I found the alcohol content to be fairly well hidden (finished with a light alcohol burn). Gave me some nice piney burps. Maybe the extra months I had this one mellowed it out some as I’m surprised by the lower numbers.

Amber colo, thin head, light lacing. Nose of bright starchy sweetness and overwhelming malts. The flavor is bitter with light hops and other malty notes. Finishes sweet, tangy. Nice.

Bottle: Coppery beige, rather bizarre color, moderate white foamy head, spotty lacing, minimal carbonation.   Pale fruity nose with loads of tea and tobacco leaves.   Doesn’t seem hot at all for a 9% IIPA.   Huge tea flavor, not so much tobacco, with a very soft bitterness.   Tiz also somewhat sweet.   This is a 9% IIPA?   Moderate to big body, fairly creamy mouthfeel.   Its certainly very smooth.   This seems somewhat of an odd duck.   Good, but a bit different from your normal IIPA.   I am just glad it isn’t alcohol fueled.   Fairly clean finish, but very light.   Lack of hop bitterness or hop flavor at all doesn’t translate well for the style.   Needs to be hoppier!

(22 oz bottle: $3.75 at the brewery) Tea, hops, sweet fruit (orange citrus), and some wood in the nose, and oh yeah, lots of alcohol. But the alcohol in the nose is nothing compared to the burning alcohol sensation I get when I drink this. Wow, this is lethal. Very sweet, quite fruity, and lots of tea and bitter hops again. A moderate earthy smokiness emerges in the finish as the beer warms up. Medium-to-full bodied, somewhat sticky on the palate. Bright amber, and slightly hazy in appearance, with many large chunky particles suspended in the beer. Pouring the beer barely musters a tiny, off-white head that dissipates completely before my eyes. No lacing, obviously. This would probably be a pretty nice beer, if it weren’t for the alcohol burn. It wasn’t as apparent when cold, but once the beer started warming up, that’s when the alcohol really started kicking ass and taking names.

22 oz. bottle - with big thanks to DarkElf for obtaining and sharing this one with me! Pours slightly hazed amber with a thin white head. Sweet orangey aroma with acidic notes, nice floral hop bouquet and hints of triple sec due to the noticible alcohol. Very sweet, almost cloying, but a nice bitterness as well with big grapefruit hop flavors and lots of alcohol making it taste a bit mediciney with a bit of spice in the finish. Medium to full body with gentle carbonation. Not bad, but I far prefer the Harmon Pt Defiance IPA over this DIPA.

Draft at the brewery
Smells of a combination of some fruity sugary hops and some doughy champagne. Some white grape and pear flavors, some harsh and sweet oak. Very weird. Pear juice, tangerines, kiwi fruit and wood. Overly sweet, buttery at times, and semi-thick. Very sticky and assertive on the palate.
