3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 curly (2352) - Seattle (Newcastle), USA - AUG 20, 2011
Pours lightly hazed amber orange with a medium sized beige head. Aroma of pine, wood, pretty dank and earthy, bready malt, some light roast. taste also has some noticeable toasted malt with tons of hops and a long bitter finish. There is also some dark fruit sweetness, this reminds me of some very hoppy barleywines I’ve had.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Aubrey (3193) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - MAY 10, 2012
Tasty, malt-forward IPA. Really rich hop flavors. Earthy, zingy, grassy and herbal. Malt flavors are loaded with sweet caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread and scones. Has a tobacco note also. Alcohol is hidden pretty well, though it does warm the back of the throat a bit. Good beer.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 reebtogi (2191) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 9, 2012
650ml bomber listed as 7.6%ABV pours a golden orangeish color with a finger of white head that leaves some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is very earthy hops. Taste is huge earthy bitterness with hints of citrus balanced with some grainy malt sweetness. Medium bodied with a little carbonation. A pretty decent IPA which is a little different than most I have had from the northwestern US.
1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 mcberko (2475) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 20, 2011
22 oz. bottle, pours an amber orange with almost no head. Aroma of resinous, fruity hops, syrup, caramel malts and lots of grapefruit. Flavour is syrupy and cloyingly sweet, overriding the strong hoppiness that would otherwise be quite pronounced. Medicinal qualities too, with candy sweet finish. Nasty - drainpour.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 CampesinoTino (497) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 28, 2011
Bomber (7.6% ABV). Pours a dark honey golden color with creamy off-white head. The aroma is a sweet and earthy blend of toasted malt, toffee and medicinal hops. The flavor begins with strong herbal hops and caramel malt notes followed by some butterscotch, pine and alcohol. The body is creamy with moderate carbonation and a dry, malty finish. It’s basically a stronger version of the Point Defiance IPA that’s a little too sweet and medicinal for my tastes.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BeerNeedy (111) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - AUG 4, 2011
this harmon offering was a pleasant surprise. there is a strong and pleasing malt note to this DIPA which makes it entirely drinkable and leaves you wanting more. There is absolutely no bias due to Tacoma being my home town...a good ale is where you find it!
0.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 TipsyMcStager (1065) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 3, 2011
maybe a bad bottle, but hands down one of the worst beers I’ve had in some time. Devoid of hops, flat and listless. A strange and off-putting candy apple sweetness. Finish is alcohol and metallic. Drain pour.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 AmEricanbrew (4122) - roam, Louisiana, USA - AUG 3, 2011
Clear amber color/ fleeting ivory foam. Big pit fruit, caramel aromas-very little hop smell. Medium bodied. Pit fruit, spicy sweet caramel malty flavors--
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 bhensonb (7589) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 19, 2011
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours a beautiful copper with a creamy/bubbly beigeish head. Aroma is very floral and fruity. Med+ body. Flavor starts with a little roast caramel, then moves on into so much hop it seems like a mix of fruit/citrus/pine/floral, then a little more caramel comes out - something like a barley wine. The flavor is intense, but the immense hop is not at all harsh. It is amazingly wonderful.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TBone (9420) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 13, 2011
Cask@Harmon Brewery brewpub, Tacoma, WA
Clear dark amber color, small white head. Aroma is quite interesting: lots of berries (strawberries, blackberries etc), pineapple, some liquer and alcohol. Medium to full-bodied. Well, flavor has a big deal of berries too: rasberry-strawberry. Glueish palate. Alcoholic finish. Not sure if this is the best beer to serve cask conditioned, probably better with normal CO2 :)
