bu11zeye (3572), Frisco, Texas, USA Mar 1, 2005 (Bottle) Pours a cloudy orange body with a thin white head. Aroma of malt, sweat, caramel, mustiness, and some pumpkin. Flavor is fruity (pineapple & strawberry), malty, and somewhat sour. Lightly acidic finish. Lumpy (1530), Carrollton, Texas, USA Feb 24, 2005 Bottle. Nose is sour; body is a nice orange/amber with a foamy head. The flavor reminded me very much of soy sauce. It is salty, tart, and lactic. Finish leaves a sour taste like spoiled milk. Nuffield (2532), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Feb 20, 2005 Very curious. The first whiff strikes me of "Belgian ale"!...grape, pumpkin, pie spices, bubblegum, sweetness, and alcohol. The flavor had a more watermelon, Kool-aid, cherry, moderately lactic quality. Moderate dry, German bitter finish. There was a rich color, hazy amber/golden, with a good off-white ring of head. So what it doesn’t fit my idea of an Oktoberfest? At the same time it is a highly unique beer--this is brewed in a culture of creativity. I want to try more Harmon’s brews, as it has a Junior Varsity Hair of the Dog quality for cutting across styles in interesting ways. Kevin (1765), Colorado, USA Feb 20, 2005 pours a cloudy copper color with a thinnish white head. pumpkin and caramel aroma and a touch of grape fruitiness. some kind of melon here in the flavor. a watery sour salt lactic and watermelon. highly acidic. the flavors do not mix well. the fruit flavors are out of place, the yeast with a sour sweat flavor is not good. this is not an oktoberfest. Indiana_Red (1445), Boise, Idaho, USA Nov 21, 2004 Bottle Pours a hazy light redish amber with a foamy off white head and chunky sticky lacing. Aromas are a sweet maltyfruity note. Flavors are a woody sweet malty. Slightly bitter finish. Very soft carbonation and a woody slightlky bitter aftertaste.
