Small tan head sits on a black body with a tint of red. Aroma is thin of toffee and brown sugar. Light body and sweet. No bitterness or dryness at the end.

Near black. Mild, slightly toffeeish aroma. Very sweet, chewy, even has some soy sauce notes. A little bit toffeeish as well. Moderate-sized body. Sweet, slightly sticky finish.

Bottle pours black, with dark chocolate highlights, very small fizzly off-white head that quickly vanishes, with virtually no lacing. WTF?!?!? Points for it being dark, but it almost seems dead. Red licorice, roasted malts, and a bit of sour milk on the nose. Quite roasty up front, slightly vinous, with hints of coffee and dark chocolate. Body and mouthfeel seem fairly mediocre. FInishes with minor dark pitted fruit, slight roasted malt, minor vinous notes, and some dark chocolate and coffee. This beer was okay, but not really that interesting. It seemed to be almost still when I poured it. Perhaps a re-rate in the future.
