Überaus wässriges Bier, von vorne bis hinten. Ab und an getreidig-herber Touch, im Antrunk leicht malzig. Misslungen.

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2011 tall can@friend’s house: distinct grains + some malt, not much else, slight bitter hop note, very simple lager, but satisfying for what it is, middling but still enjoyable and refreshing

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a rich, deep gold, darker than the standard euro pale lagers. It has a right white head that dissipates rather quickly.
The smell is very malty with hints of honey, there is an overlying off scent that is a bit metallic. Theres no sign of hops.
The mouthfeel is thicker than most Euro Pale lagers, the flavor is rich and malty with not much hp bitterness. The mouthfeel is thick but with a high carbonation level, not bad.
It packs more of a punch than most at 6.2 and it bridges the gap between Euro pale lager and Euro strong lager. It is pretty drinkable though.
At .99 a pop this stuff is well worth it, it is a slightly stronger than average lager with a rich malty flavor.

Best before July! Very slight skunk in the aroma, a sugary, watery sweetness otherwise. A bready sweetness with zero bitterness comprises the flavor, pretty yucky. Bland would be better, this is too sweet to be bland. Zero evidence hops are actually used in the brewing of this beer except for when they form volatile compounds in the aroma. Bad. Somewhat too frothy.

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
28-Feb-10 (500-ml bottle: Purchased 02-Feb-10 for $2.09 at BevMo in La Jolla, CA) These pale lagers may not taste so great, but they certainly are pretty when poured into a tall Pilsener glass; it’s crystal clear and golden-yellow in color, with countless streams of small carbonation bubbles rise slowly through beer to join with the inch-tall, fluffy, white head. Very grainy in flavor, corny, sweet, some honey, lot of paper and cardboard, and backed by a light bitterness. Aromas of cardboard and dank grains. Light bodied, moderately carbonated, leaves the mouth feeling stale and coated with glue. Overall, just another generic Eastern European pale lager, one that is pretty awful if the senses are not numbed cold. Not remotely enjoyable.

500ml bottle, 5.7% ABV -
Picked up for $2 at BevMo. Beer pours out a light/straw yellow body, clear, visible carbonation in the body, 2" bright white head with quick dissipation. Aroma has a nice dried fruit kind of sweetness to it, almost like a peach & cream oatmeal packet. The flavor is a let down though, with a bland sweetness that seems to drift off into nothing. No hop bite, no grassy note...just kind of a fatty sweetness. Finish is a bit of wet dirt, quick though..nothing lingering. Not bad for $2, but hardly anything worth buying again.

Smells like funky eggs. Very bad. This is very Bud-like to me. Much cleaner than a regular Bud, with a bit of dryness in the finish, but too much of a poor pale lager basically.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2010 When malt liquor comes from Europe, it is called a European strong lager around here and that’s just what this is, a malt liquor from Europe. This pours perfectly clear orange golden w/ an white head that lingers as a small ring around the glass. Sweet grainy malt dominates the nose w/ some grassy, earthy hop notes around the edges. This bottle seems fresh actually but it is still wince-worthy w/ its boozy sweetness and metallic hop bitterness. This is sticky and sluggish on the tongue yet still a touch over-carbonated. A malt liquor by any other name tastes just as sweet--and I mean that in a bad way.
