3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Gusler (2654) - Tucson, USA - DEC 20, 2002
Re-Rate 12/20/02: Harp is one of the beers that I tried some 20 years ago on my first trip to Ireland, along with my first pint of Guinness at St. James Gate, and what fond memories I have of those days.
The pour a translucent golden color, the head brilliant white and modest in size with a whip cream texture, the lace left behind is in fine sheets that cling to the glass. Malt dominates the nose, crisp, fresh and clean as a well made lager should be. Lightly sweet at the front, the top middling in mouth feel, the finish spicily hopped, daringly acidic, and the aftertaste dry as the Arizona desert. Maybe not as good as I remember, but things seldom are these days, but a long time favorite nonetheless.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 portableparty (1190) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - MAY 28, 2012
Bottle. Pours yellow straw colored with sudsy white head that fades. Aroma has malt some sweetness and grain. Taste is malty with grain and a subtle sweetness and finishes slightly bitter. Palate is thin and chalky.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 blackmetal (45) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 10, 2012
Rather drinkable and smooth during, but the start and finish is somewhat abrupt.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 hivemind (430) - New York, New York, USA - APR 29, 2012
12-oz bottle with dinner. Poured into Guinness glass. Medium gold color, quickly receeding head. Nose is bland, some metal. Taste is somewhat metallic but actually quite balanced and not really watery. Fair amount of bitterness and a crisp finish. Definitely drinkable.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Onenote81 (902) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 25, 2012
Originally reviewed: 10/22/10. Had this beer on-tap at Finnegan’s Wake in town for lunch. Came out a crystal clear pale gold with a thin white head on top. Light lace left behind. The nose was basic: some light grains, buttered-bread, faint hops. Nice crisp clean mouth on it. Refreshing. Nice grainy breads in the flavor, hints of bitter hops, and a smooth sweet finish. This paired very well with my Irish fare. Not a bad beer. I liked it.

Has a sweet aroma, and sweet taste, which makes this a very appealing lager.

Clear golden with a thin white head. The aroma is pale-lager malty with notes of straw and caramel. The flavor is the same with dry notes of adjunct.
2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Metalchopz (1429) - Quebec, CANADA - APR 4, 2012
Originally rated March 2005. Damn, for a lager, the head is creamy and white, and also has good retention, very good. Lacing is rocking too. Its colour is golden and carbonation is pretty intense. The nose is pretty much malt. Taste is crisp and kind of lemony, so refreshing - yes. Quite smooth and creamy. Not the best of beer, but easily accessible and descent for a lager.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 lowg (141) - Scarborough, Ontario, CANADA - APR 4, 2012
500ml cans from LCBO; bought a bunch for last St. Patty’s day. Nothing special; typical macro lager. Better than the typical Molbatt’s stuff out there as it has some body and doesn’t taste like water.
2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 JohnnyZ (89) - Illinois, USA - APR 1, 2012
Quality taste. You can drink a lot of these. I agree they go good with the game. Great on St. Pats day. From Ireland, which is nice. Needs to be 5.0 ABV. Oh well, still good.
