Nose was dusty and sweet smelling, like sugar and wet tree branches. Pallate was sticky, literally and tacky and too reduced or something. I love resiny piney IPAs but this beer drank like simple syrup. Flavor was citrusy and sugary with a distinct wet leaf quality. I’ll pass.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 1, 2010 Strong aroma of fruit and grass. Pours a rust color with a decent head. Hop taste is subtle and the finish is light and watery. Not as strong as the first waif would indicate. Duhast500 (221), , Massachusetts, USA

Poured from a 22oz. bottle into a stemmed glass.
The color is a clear gold with a tint of maroon in it, clear, with about three fingers of white foamy head. Some really nice lacing on the glass.
The smell is deep floral hops. The flavors are pretty earthy and mellow but quite present. Some hint of rye malt in the background.
The taste is very hoppy with some nice floral feel and a mix of slight fruity flavors. There are little hints of lemon that is a bit sweet but is balanced by the bitter hop flavor.
This beer has a nice mellow feel that is nice to have from a pretty hoppy beer. The bitterness is set back and does not coat your tongue with a layer of bitterness.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Light caramalt sweetness on the aroma. Light gold-orange color. Definately signature Harpoon flavor; light pale ale body with a light but fresh (obviously) hop presence. A bit bready.

Lacey, derived from grapefruit colour. Very mildly hop flavour. Mouthfeel average, understated carbonation. A nice, mild drinkable bitterness. Enjoyable and something I could drink frequently. zathrus13 (1320), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA
