A nice dark golden ale with a thin white head. Pleasant cinnamon wheat aroma, candy like. In mouth, a sustained graininess, malt, fresh mash, sustained bitterness. Much better than their other offerings. Served at room temp. On tap at Mahars, Albany, May 31, 2008.

Bottle... Post RBSG ’08 O-Town/Vero Beach Throwdown Chapter 8... Clear amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Discreet notes of caramel and rye. Medium-bodied and a bit thin with placid carbonation. Mostly bland, flavor-wise. A touch sweet, but rye dryness balances it out. Finishes mostly sweet, and then dry. Thanks go out to Oakes and Beershine for providing the samples!

22oz bottle. Poured a medium orange color with a very large sized off white head. Aromas of rye breadiness (that came out the more it warmed), very lightly spicy, and I was getting some citrus in there too. Tastes of some rye (not as strong as the aroma), spicy, and some lighter sweetness.

Tap at Barcade. Light amber with a very creamy off-white head. Aroma is quite earthy and a bit peppery. It smells like an old NSLC or LCBO... that mix of beer and cardboard box that I can’t really describe any other way. It almost makes me nostalgic. There is also a light spiciness and a very unusual tobaccoish note with loads of grassy spiciness. The rye in this one is very expressive and really makes it’s presence known. Flavour is also quite toasty and earthy with a lightly whiskeyish character. Not a lot of fruitiness and the hops seem very woody and UK-ish. A touch of toast and light grassiness. It’s okay and there are some interesting components, but something about it is missing.
