3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Moderate cookie and cereal for the malt, light cooked orange for the hops, light dough and cream cheese for the yeast, with background notes of date, brown sugar, maple syrup, nutmeg, mace and vanilla. Head is large, frothy to fizzy, off-white with a few spots of slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear copper. Flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic and only faintly bitter. Palate is medium, creamy with a lively to fiizzy carbonation. Nice and complex, and fairly tasty, but this Wheat Ale would have to be less cake-like for me to really dig it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Good head, nearly white. The lace slides down the glass. The liquid is dark and crystal clear for a wheat beer--clearly amber.
Mild malt and wheat aroma. Reminds me of a cherry wheat beer I’ve had before. Slightly sweet.
An interesting combination of spicy wheat, mellow malt and a touch of hop. Full bodied with ample carbonation. Light spiciness with a round, creamy feel.

Orange-amber under a pithy head which fades into a broken bubbly layer bordered by a thick collar of bubbles. Swirls with more bubbles.
Caramelization and booze in the back. Maple syrup and pancakes. Maple and caramel flambéed bananas – bananas foster. Husked mapled cereal grains.
Interesting addition of chocolate along with maple in the back – like a flambéed Skor bar. Red apple skins also followed by apple seeds and apple orchard musk. Weird tickle at the back of my throat. Dry spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon powder.
It was alright. Not quite sure where the wheat came into play – no soft or bready mouthfeel, maybe the musk… The aroma offered far more than the palate gave me but all in all it was alright.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
tastes more like a dunkel or oktoberfest than a wheat. dark roasty malt notes, overt dark sugar sweetness, a bit of maple i suppose. a bit more alcohol burn than i was expecting for a 6.8%, and a mildly bitter finish. its ok, but not really that interesting.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a pretty reddish cole, clear, with no head. Smells of heavy maple and wet dog. Flavor is mostly wheat beer with only a hint of maple. Rather sweet, though. This is my second maple beer, and I have to say I like it better than the first. Would not get it again, but enjoyed exploring the style.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: OCT 3, 2012 Big Bottle....It really smells sweet with hints of Maple. The warmer the beer get the stronger the hints of maple. It pours a clear amber like color with huge light brown head that lasts for a couple mins. The sweetness is strong to the palate and taste as it enhances the bitterness quality. The nitternesss is overwhelming. The beer gets better the warmer it gets. Its not the best Wheat beer. Its ok.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma has definite maple and wheat tones, plus fruity, malty and hoppy hints. Pours a clear, dark, fizzy copper with a fairly thick pale copper-tan head. Flavor has a wheaty core with maple and fruity notes plus hints of woody hops and caramel, and just a touch of horehound. Texture has firm body and a decent amount of fizz, leaving a tingly, syrupy, slightly hoppy finish. This is a good one, so catch it while you can, no matter what series!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Glad to have found the notes on this.
This was poured into a pint glass and another bottle was poured into a weizen glass. Obviously, the head was way bigger in the weizen glass.
The appearance had a nice hazy orange to amber color with a nice looking one finger white foamy head that lasted for a good minute and a half. Once the head started dieing and letting some lacing to start showing, it looked fairly stringy and light.
The smell had a nice dose of maple revealing itself through some nice wheat tones.
The taste took the maple and wheat and added a fairly decent hop bitterness to assist in balancing the whole thing.
On the palate, this one sat fairly light but showed an aspect that could be considered to be a medium on the body. This one was fairly sessionable with a mild carbonation to amplify a nice body to it.
Overall, in my opinion, this was worthy to have again, but I’m unsure if Harpoon still makes this. Sorry for only uploading this beer review right now.
