Dark copper in the glass with an off-white head. Faint malty aroma. Nutty malt flavors with a touch of caramel. Spicy hop finish. Not really outstanding but certainly a very drinkable beer.

22oz bottle. Pours a clear dark honey brown with one finger long lasting head. A very subtle smell of malt and some hops. The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel, fruit and brown sugar. Then bready flavors come with a hearty malt character. The hops presence is strong but not over powering and creates a good balance. Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

22 ounce bomber poured in tall Oktoberfest glass. Copper light bodied with good lacing and light, spicy bitterness. Also slight sourness, yeasty and roasted grain flavors. Could this be Hamburg’s session beer?

This beer was alright. I haven’t tried any other beer of this genre but to me it tasted like a spicy lager. Not a go to beer but I’m glad that I’ve tried it.

A dark amber beer with a thick off white head. In aroma, nutty malt with bits of lactic points, grainy and herbal. In mouth, a nutty malt with an oily mouthfeel, light roasted nots, lactic points, not bad. Tasted Jan 1 2011.

Bottle. Pours an amber body with a white head and good retention. Light melon like sweetness a hint of honey due, earth tones a bit dry and woody with a light spiced hop character. Thin and simple, enjoyable.

The beer pours a brownish-amber color with a white head. The aroma is toffee malt along with some earthy and grassy hops. The flavor is more of the same. I get a ton of malt character - toffee and biscuit - as well as some grassy hops. Overall, the beer tastes a little bit like iced tea. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bomber - fairly clear amber beer - aroma has an initial oxidized/cellared character, some caramel, doughy yeast, some raisin, light spiciness - fairly full-bodied and flavored for the abv - has a bit of nuttiness - fairly bready throughout - lightly spicy - fairly strong, spicy hops, but tempered by a moderate caramel sweetness and some notes of date and raisin - a bit of diacetyl, but just a touch, and it kind of works with the breadiness - the hops are a bit overly bitter in the finish, and never completely come together with the malt, but this is decent.

22oz bottle from Wegman’s in State College, PA. Pours a crystal clear, copper colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a pretty nice lacing throughout. Aroma is bready and caramel malts with some floral and herbal hops. A bit grainy and a hint of spice with a touch of apricot and toast. Flavor is similar. A decent, even level of spicy herbs and floral hops balanced with a moderate caramel, somewhat bready and grainy maltiness. A few fruits and a touch of toast before this finishes somewhat minerally, crisp, and very dry with a light-moderate bitterness that leaves a fairly lengthy aftertaste. Lighter body and medium-high, soft carbonation. Overall, a well balanced, easy drinking lager. Pretty solid hop taste throughout with a solid, crisp, lightly sweetened bready caramel. I think they achieved what they were going for. Not bad at all.
