COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is brewed with our proprietary yeast Ė the same yeast weíve used since first brewing Harpoon Ale Ė and some interesting hop varieties. The combination of Pale, Rye, Caramel 60, Flaked Rye, and Vienna yield a complex malt body that stands up to the spiciness of the rye and the pronounced hop flavor. The rye also adds a reddish hue to the beer. The kettle additions of Centennial, Apollo, and Chinook, and the dry hop addition of Falconerís Flight add a multidimensional hop character.

22oz bottle-pours a tight off white head and gold color. Aroma is mango/pine, light malt/grain-bready. Taste is biting rye/grain, resin/spice hops.

Pours a slightly cloudy honey amber color. Musty cardboard aroma. Pine resin flavor and a clean citrus note. A bit watery though. Overall, itís OK. Drinkable but not offensive.

In short: A relatively smooth blonde rye beer with floral hops. Enjoyable
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed very fresh a few weeks after the beer release
The look: Clear blonde body topped by a medium off-white head with good retention
In long: Nose has nice fresh rye bread, floral hops as well as some tropical fruits that seemed to be hop-induced. Taste is smooth, round and pleasant. This is not a hop bomb (this is far from a Founders Reds Rye) and nor is it a rye malt orgy. This is a smooth beer with a distinctive fresh rye bread and moderate floral and wooden hop presence. Finish is moderate bitter with a nice dryness. Tastes like a bouquet of flowers and a slice of fresh rye bread. Taste-wise the beer is far from intense but it is also quite filling. A nice way to spend 30 minutes. Although scientists have discovered that you lose 30 minutes of your remaining lifespan every time you spend 30 minutes drinking a bomber of beer. Scary.

Orange with small white head. Aroma citrus and pine with some background malt. Medium bodied, no alcohol noticable. Crisp and flavorful hops, more or less grassy with mild malty balance. Good IPA, not that memorable.

Slightly hazy copper pour with pillowtop offwhite head. Smells faintly clean and metallic. Flavor is better, with a good decent old hop character. Lightly spicy, more bitter than anything, surprisingly, donít pick up all that much rye. A little thin and watery on the palate. Didnít really think much of this one.

Pored from a 750ml bottle into a 100 Barrel Series tulip glass. The color is a hazy orange/gold with three fingers of foamy white head and some nice lacing left on the glass. The smell is deeply hopped with a garden full of floral hops in the nose nose. There is a slight hint of right in the background aroma and teases what is to come. The taste has a coarse flavor at first that is a filled with sticky hops. The bitterness is almost like tasting paste but also give a slightly citrus flavor that moves around the mouth and even hits the nasal passages as well as it goes down. There is some grapefruit and other citrus flavors but is bookend by a lips smacking bitterness from the hops. There is a rye flavor that is laced throughout the flavor but keeps itís distance as the bitterness plays the major role. The feel of this beer is big with a heavy feel to the body that makes it a beer that may get loose on you. It goes down smooth but is something like a heavy weight when it hits bottom then releases that heavy feel at the end.

Bottle
Pours a lively, deep cheddar orange with a nose of hay, grapefruit, dewy spring grass, and a hint of sweet roll. Flavor is a tangy, melon-like grapefruit with a straw bread finish. Tingly and coating on the tongue. Tasty.

The aroma is metallic and citrusy with malt, corn, and rye. The appearance is deep gold with an amber hue. The head is medium sized. The taste is like the aroma with a papery finish. The palate is smooth. Overall this is not that great but is interesting.

From a bottle poured an amber color with a fair amount of head. Hoppy spicy flavor with a lingering aftertaste.
