3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clear deep golden almost copper color with a stingy beige head that dissipates slowly before attaching a fair amount of lace to the sides. Smells of grapefruit and citrus fruit mixed with a spicy rye twang. Lots of toffee and caramel in there to provide a backbone. Taste is pretty much what I expected from the aroma. Sweet caramel and toffee up front mildly spicy rye followed by less grapefruit and citrus than I expected. Finishes kind of dry with a long lingering citric bitterness. Reminds me a whole lot of Harpoon IPA, but a little creamier and a little rye added. Creamy smooth mouthfeel, medium body and carbonation level. I enjoyed this one thereís really nothing wrong with it, but thereís not really anything spectacular about it either. Good beer, but not great, glad I got to try it.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bomber. Gold pour with thin white head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity. Flavor follows aroma - malty grainy with touch of fruit leading to a dry citrus hoppy finish. Medium body and appropriate carbonation. Overall delicious drinkable IPA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Regional Food and Drink, DC pint ($4 hh): Pours a golden colour without too much in the way of head. Aroma is of rye, hops that seemed a bit German to me, at least in the way of aroma., and some sugar. Plenty of hops, giving it a good amount of bitterness. Not on the fruity side at all. More earthy than anything. Some herbs and stuff like that. Not on the sweet side either. Leaves a moderate aftertaste. A pleasant drink though.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
On Tap. This was a great rye IPA. It was pretty sweet for the style and smooth. Not too much bite on the palate. I will look for more in this series.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice ipa, very easy to drink, the rye only gives it a slightly earthy aroma and flavor, but doesnít change up the basic ipa too much. would like to see harpoon venture a little farther outside the box for a special release like this, but very nice ipa
