This beer is brewed with our proprietary yeast – the same yeast we’ve used since first brewing Harpoon Ale – and some interesting hop varieties. The combination of Pale, Rye, Caramel 60, Flaked Rye, and Vienna yield a complex malt body that stands up to the spiciness of the rye and the pronounced hop flavor. The rye also adds a reddish hue to the beer. The kettle additions of Centennial, Apollo, and Chinook, and the dry hop addition of Falconer’s Flight add a multidimensional hop character.

Poured up on tap with clear deep gold body, copper hues and off white head. The aroma offers up some nice spicy rye notes as well as smooth sweet malts and a modest level of sort of vague hoppiness. The taste has fresh spicy rye moving around both here and there as well as some spicy hops, floral hops and citrus hops too. Overall it seems nice and spicy with rye and getting a bit resiny into the finish balanced by ample malts sweetness. Yummy one with a pleasing spicy rye presence.

Bottle. Pours a clear orange with a thick white head. Aroma of bitter hops, caramel malt, spicy rye, and bready malt. Flavor of bready pale malts, fruity and floral hops, with spicy rye in the finish. Good stuff! 8/4/8/4/14 [3.8/5]

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy caramel-apricot color with a large fluffy orange-white head. The aroma was sweet pineapple, grapefruit, pine and pepper. The flavor was tangy sour caramel with notes of spruce, pepper, pine, lemon and a bready undertone. The finish was medium length tangy, spicy and had lingering caramel, pine and spruce. Fairly full bodied. Solid.

Bomber. Pours mildly hazy orange, with a creamy beige head. Aromas of sweet and spicy citrus and some dough. The flavor is sweet doughy malt, rye, citrus peel, and some tropical fruit. Smooth, crisp, and refreshing. A bit one-dimensional, but pleasant. [763]

Bomber from Jonathan Ron Brielle. Poured a golden orange, average fluffy white head. Aroma is odd with a good amount of spiceyness, wet bread and light vegetables. The body is fuller with strong carbonation and a harsh bitter finish. Flavor changes constantly as this beer warms. Super cold not much is detectable, cold it’s not that good and upon warming a little bit more it becomes decent. lots of grapefruit rind, toast, bread crusts, super harsh citrus. This one needs to drank slightly warmer.

Piney aroma resinous hops on the nose. Pours a pale golden blonde with a dense white head. Very spicy piney grassy upfront, the rye definitely compliments the hops and both very apparent. Finishes with sweet pine with a dry spicy rye finish. Excellent

Decent sized light beige head of fine and dense bubbles. Light hops and grain notes in the aroma along with a hint of grapefruit and a bit of roasted malts. Color is a bright orange brown. Flavor is mild with a rather strong bitterness that lingers throughout the drink. More roasted malts and a definite presence from the rye. Dries the brew out and gives it a slight chalky and pasty mouthfeel. Very easy drinking and with very little alcohol presence. A pretty good IPA.

Tap at Paradiso Dupont. The pour is a clear, golden amber body with a dense, fluffy, buttermilk head. Good lacing. Looks the part of a solid IPA. The nose is orange candy and sugar. Taste is candy sweet with pancake batter and full buttery biscuit. Very rich mouthfeel with quenching maltiness and fullness like Kern River Just Outstanding IPA, but not nearly the IPA-gasm that Just Oustanding is. So...great aesthetics but lacking in the olfactory department.
