on tap at the brewery this is a rich full bodied and tasteful brew complex with flavors of rye, spice like caraway and grapefruit hop delightfully in competition with a full fresh from the farm malt character and aroma that permeates from about a block away from the brewery. deep enough brown in color it is satisfying just a little sweet and has a lingering finish that is a little sharp and tingly in flavor and carbonation with some caramel. hmmm hmmm good.

Pours a soft clean golden amber with one finger of sticky offwhite head. Rich spicy nose with some citrus rind and toasted bread and a light grassy character. Spicy flavor with a bit more of a bite than I’d like, goes well with a gyro though. Mild malty sweetness. Palate is kind of sharp with a medium body.

Shared by emacgee. Thanks Ethan. Fairly translucent orange amber with light white head. Nose is rye, citrus, floral, some light butter. Sticky sweet flavor (more butter detected) that finishes with lots of bitterness. Meh.

Pours a clear deep golden almost copper color with a stingy beige head that dissipates slowly before attaching a fair amount of lace to the sides. Smells of grapefruit and citrus fruit mixed with a spicy rye twang. Lots of toffee and caramel in there to provide a backbone. Taste is pretty much what I expected from the aroma. Sweet caramel and toffee up front mildly spicy rye followed by less grapefruit and citrus than I expected. Finishes kind of dry with a long lingering citric bitterness. Reminds me a whole lot of Harpoon IPA, but a little creamier and a little rye added. Creamy smooth mouthfeel, medium body and carbonation level. I enjoyed this one there’s really nothing wrong with it, but there’s not really anything spectacular about it either. Good beer, but not great, glad I got to try it.

22oz bomber. Gold pour with thin white head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity. Flavor follows aroma - malty grainy with touch of fruit leading to a dry citrus hoppy finish. Medium body and appropriate carbonation. Overall delicious drinkable IPA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Regional Food and Drink, DC pint ($4 hh): Pours a golden colour without too much in the way of head. Aroma is of rye, hops that seemed a bit German to me, at least in the way of aroma., and some sugar. Plenty of hops, giving it a good amount of bitterness. Not on the fruity side at all. More earthy than anything. Some herbs and stuff like that. Not on the sweet side either. Leaves a moderate aftertaste. A pleasant drink though.

On Tap. This was a great rye IPA. It was pretty sweet for the style and smooth. Not too much bite on the palate. I will look for more in this series.
