3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, best by 09/19/12. Hops still smell great in this one, Centennial for sure and some nice doughy/floral additions from unknown varietals. Lots of rye and some caramel. Hazy orange with a large rocky, dense yellow-tinged head. Legs and lace. Taste is very strongly bitter with light sweetness and some alcohol seepage, heavy rye and some caramel, lots of pungent hops. Dries out considerably. Some mineral undertones start to show themselves after a few ounces. Fullish body. Still feels pretty fresh and leafy, maybe a little slapdash on the whole but we do love to see youthful vigor!

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
My bottle was dressed in more traditional Harpoon garb, and didnít say #37, but it appears to be the same stuff. Initially, a very resinous hop/rye aroma, which gives way to a floral, sweetish, esteric affair. Lightly hazed, ruddy beer with a rafting, frogís eggs head. Biting, tannic, chemical. Like a red ale mixed with Mr. Clean. Medium body, with a green pecan astringency at the end. The only reason to make rye beer is when your only other alternative is sorghum. I wonít buy another. ABC, Betton.

1.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Brief write-up. I found this one MASSIVELY harsh and hard to enjoy. At first, I found it to be okay, not too bitter or sweet; but the sandpaper-rough palate feel totally tanked this one for me. Sadly, I had to drainpour this one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Gorgeous coppery amber pour with medium, frothy white head. Aroma is citrus, spicy hops, floral notes and caramel. Also has toasted malt or toasted grain in the aroma. Taste is spicy hops, caramel, light toffee, citrus notes, floral hops and light tropical fruit. Body is medium with a moderate, bubbly carbonation and lingering hop bitterness. Ends with more spicy hops, rye notes, caramel, toasted malt, floral hops and citrus. Nice!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a medium bodied honey amber color. Nice thick head with good retention. Lovely aroma of citrus and pineapple. Quite fruity. Lovely hoppy flavor. Very bitter. A big fan of this one. Its not too intense but no too weak.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber into a tall tulip. Fine white head over a gold-tinged orange body. Aroma is quite hoppy with a touch of malt, maybe rye spice underneath. In the mouth, hops dominate. Some of the malt comes through on the aftertaste. The hops are dominate enough that if I didnít really concentrate I wouldnít think this was anything other than another hops-assertive IPA. Fair.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a clear orange with a beige head that leaves some lacing. Sharp hop aroma with some pepper. Powerful hop blast on the first sip and very dry. The malt is no match for the hops which is just to over the top. All I can smell and taste are hops. Lasting bitter finish. This beer had potential but Iím not sure why so many hop varieties were used...then to make matters worse they also dry hop.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Half Time. Pours copper with a creamy off-white head that laces a bit. Aroma is lightly rye with some mixed, mostly citrus(?), hop. Med body. The rye spice is very present, and thereís some grapefruit aspects, and perhaps a little light pitted fruit. Finishes rye and dry and decently bitter. Nice.
