COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is brewed with our proprietary yeast – the same yeast we’ve used since first brewing Harpoon Ale – and some interesting hop varieties. The combination of Pale, Rye, Caramel 60, Flaked Rye, and Vienna yield a complex malt body that stands up to the spiciness of the rye and the pronounced hop flavor. The rye also adds a reddish hue to the beer. The kettle additions of Centennial, Apollo, and Chinook, and the dry hop addition of Falconer’s Flight add a multidimensional hop character.

Bomber picked up by my lively wife at state liquors in md. Shared with friends. Pours a amber color, foamy head with fair retention. Scent is light rye and a hint of pine. Taste is same with addition of caramel malt.

Hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is heavy on the citrus and rye with some biscuit malt. Flavor is rye, orange, pine, toffee and low bitterness. Medium body and medium carbonation.

Poured as part of a flight. Light hop aroma, reddish gold color, bitter throughout, some rye bread flavor mid-taste, medium finish. For me, the rye makes this fairly unappealing.

pours a light red to heavy copper color with good head retention. Aroma is heavy in grapefruit, some citrus, and spicyness. the flavor is malty with caramel up front with a finish of the rye spicyness at the rear and grape fruit from the hops. This is a good well rounded beer and would recommend to a ipa lover plus a rye lover. I believe i have homebrewed this recipe myself.

Had this right after the regular IPA, at somebody’s Summer Shack in Alewife. Gave them both the same ratings, though are some differences. aroma of caramel, wood and. black pepper. flavor is grapefruit rind, caramel and toast. light in the mouth.

Bottle, in the new year-round livery. Hazy orange-amber with a thin but staying top of foam. There’s a nice citric aroma, and drinks with a gristy, grainy grittiness, and a pleasant floral citrus bloom flourish. (#5027, 5/23/2013)

The rye dominates a bit and gives this a bit too strong of a spice flavor. Herbal aromas are drowned out quickly as the flavor comes in. The finish is pretty quick and spice again. Interested to try this but probalby won’t be picking up more.

Amber pour with a thin white head. Aroma of hops and caramel. Light body but a lot of flavor. A nice hope profile which fades to a sweet finish.

Strawberry preserves, citrus fruit, and mild cereal aromas. Clear copper with a faint, off-white head. Dry, fruity, with a well balanced malt backbone, and good bitterness. Light-medium bodied, spicy, well carbonated, and finishes with hop bitterness and subtle notes of black pepper.

Nice hoppy spice and fruity almost jam scent. Thin white head and light amber body. Dry hoppy slight spice and rye flavors. Crisp smooth but a lityle thin on the palate.
