COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is brewed with our proprietary yeast Ė the same yeast weíve used since first brewing Harpoon Ale Ė and some interesting hop varieties. The combination of Pale, Rye, Caramel 60, Flaked Rye, and Vienna yield a complex malt body that stands up to the spiciness of the rye and the pronounced hop flavor. The rye also adds a reddish hue to the beer. The kettle additions of Centennial, Apollo, and Chinook, and the dry hop addition of Falconerís Flight add a multidimensional hop character.

Best before 10-15-2012.

A: The body is a slightly hazy dark amber/copper body with a steady stream of carbonation from the nucleation point on my glass. A thin yet dense and creamy light tan head sits on top, not much retention but leaves a dense coating on top.

S: Interesting spicy, bready and citrus aroma hinting at a slight bitterness to this, mildly sweet.

T: Bready malts with rye spice on the intro with hints of caramel, the rye spice continues through to the end underlying the beer, while a spicy pine hop bitterness matches the rye really well. The finish hints at citrus and lingers for a bit of spice and dries out really well. This is a good beer.

M: Medium bodied with crisp carbonation.

O: This is a great addition to their year-round line-up. This is a very solid Rye IPA and the hop choices really do well matching the rye in here.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a hazy copper colored body giving a one finger white foamy speckled head that lasted for a good minute before it concaved into the body lightly and slowly. The body was too dark for any carbonation to be seen rising. The smell had rye malts up front with some light hoppy notes giving a wonderful spicy scent. The taste brought these flavorings back boldly with some light caramel undertones. The palate had a medium with nothing harsh on the tongue, just an overall great feel. Overall, I really liked this beer and would have it again if I lived in its distro.

Bottle to taster. Bottle is labeled enjoy by 03/15/14. Looks good for the style; a transparent orange with eggshell head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of floral and piney hops and mild rye spice with a fairly sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells, but not as hoppy. Average on the palate. A little sweeter than I prefer, and smells better than it tastes, but a decent example of the style nonetheless.

Clean, crisp, floor sweeper of an ipa. The rye usurps the cascade and corrects the balance so it's even. I like it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured into a half liter glass. This is a sturdy IPA strengthened by a addition of rye. A good dose of malt solidifies this brew. Not a weak piney session beer. Not a hop-head amped up behemoth. This is a great and solid IPA. Bravo and Cheers!

Not a fan. It has a taste of like a Heineken with less skunk then a clean finish. It gets better as you drink it but it doesn't immediate grab me.

Pours clear, pale amber with a fine white head that fades and leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, a bit of pine, a bit of grass and fruit. Taste is lightly malty with a lot of abrupt hop flavour. Highish carbonation, medium body. Definitely not a subtle beer.

Pours a clear amber, white head recedes to a thin film, great lacing. Nice bright hop aroma, citrus, some grass. Taste is a nice light malty character followed by a huge crisp citric bite. Light spiciness too. Finish is dry and crisp, very fizzy and a lingering citrus aftertaste. Great RIPA!
