COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is brewed with our proprietary yeast Ė the same yeast weíve used since first brewing Harpoon Ale Ė and some interesting hop varieties. The combination of Pale, Rye, Caramel 60, Flaked Rye, and Vienna yield a complex malt body that stands up to the spiciness of the rye and the pronounced hop flavor. The rye also adds a reddish hue to the beer. The kettle additions of Centennial, Apollo, and Chinook, and the dry hop addition of Falconerís Flight add a multidimensional hop character.

Nice beer. . . for a rye IPA, exceptionally high on the drinkability scale-- really a nice clean finish to, considering it has all the snappy hops and coppery malted malts you could require. Also of note-- very nice floral nose and a nice substantial head, coupled with carbonation that is well-behaved but still has some zip (which I think is crucial for tis type of beer), Tasty.

Draft pour copper with tan head. Strong citrus aromas. Pleasant hop bitterness with strong balanced rye malt flavor. Grassy/citrus hop finish, but the rye malt really shines in this IPA.

Rated on 4-28-2012 at Fort Wayne, IN Gathering (Bottle) When poured, this beer has a fizzy white head that mostly diminishes, opaque golden body, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is caramel malt, earthy, fruity, grapefruit, citrus and pine hops. The flavor is moderately bitter, malty, pine hops, fruity, and the rye makes an appearance in the end. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is medium bodied. This beer has a good hoppy flavor with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. This is a good quality brewed IPA and is worth trying.

Bottle. Smoky aromas of tangy hops, rye malt. Soapy palate, a touch creamier than your average IPA. Funky flavours of grapefruit, dusty malt and booze. Not bad.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a hazy copper colored body giving a one finger white foamy speckled head that lasted for a good minute before it concaved into the body lightly and slowly. The body was too dark for any carbonation to be seen rising. The smell had rye malts up front with some light hoppy notes giving a wonderful spicy scent. The taste brought these flavorings back boldly with some light caramel undertones. The palate had a medium with nothing harsh on the tongue, just an overall great feel. Overall, I really liked this beer and would have it again if I lived in its distro.

Bottle to taster. Bottle is labeled enjoy by 03/15/14. Looks good for the style; a transparent orange with eggshell head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of floral and piney hops and mild rye spice with a fairly sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells, but not as hoppy. Average on the palate. A little sweeter than I prefer, and smells better than it tastes, but a decent example of the style nonetheless.

Clean, crisp, floor sweeper of an ipa. The rye usurps the cascade and corrects the balance so it's even. I like it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
