3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I’ll admit, I assumed this was a Pils when I bought it. After adjusting my expectations - it’s a very solid beer. More substantial than most english pale ales. Great malt backbone - strong, and without any cloying sweetness. Great hops, which are balanced throughout. Nice long finish. Copper-colored, with lacing that lingers on the sides of the glass. Tastes very fresh. Impressive.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear and dark reddish amber color. Moderate head, but it leaves lots of ring and webby lace.
Smells dry with a relatively minor hop effect. Touch of metal.
The taste is similar to the smell, perhaps a little more earthy. The body is lightly thin, but the carbonation is also low. So, I’d say it’s balanced. I’d describe this as more malty (but quite dry) than hoppy even after the swallow.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is dark copper with a large off-white head. Aroma is sweet and grassy with notes of pine, toast, and earth. Flavor is lighter on the hops than I expected - yeast, earth, grain, pine.

Bomber from Grape & Gourmet, VA Beach. Pours a hazy amber color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toasted, nutty malts, intensely herbal hops with some grassy and pine notes. The taste is toffee malts, some toast, apples, floral, grass and resin hops. Medium bodied. Fairly different and quite nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber to shaker - has a tea brown color and a medium foamy head that dissipates quickly. Has what seems like a fruity (apricot) nose and a malty biscuit flavor. Medium mouthfeel and an average bitter finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Strong, malty aroma has firm fruity and hoppy notes, the former mainly apple, a hint of cloves. Pours a slightly hazy coppery brown with a rather thick light tan head that leaves good lacing. Flavor has a good malty core with a hoppy but scarcely bitter overtone and whispers of cloves and fruit. Firm-bodied texture has good fizz and leaves a pleasant malty, fruity finish.

Moderate robust grain malt and little hops. Hazy orange-red color with a medium off white head. Mild sharp sweetness in the beginning with a light bitter finish. Beer was old and the hops may have faded away.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Pours a cloudy dark amber with a large creamy off white head lasting awhile leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a bready malt with caramel and raisin. Thin mouhtfeel with a rich bready malt and light dry hop with lingering light bitter finish. Easy to drink a good English pale ale from Harpoon.
