2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 unclemattie (3242) - Georgia, USA - JUL 3, 2006
Clear, Light orange golden color. strange aroma. not of finishing hop of light malt. tingly palate contains mostly bitterness and maybe too much carbonation. I’m in the mood for some rice and beans. Strange balance. I may have expected an ESB maybe..?

Bottle Pours a hazy amber with an off white creamy head. The produces good lacing and last fairly well. Has a nice mixture of aromas, with a musty hoppiness. Light bodied and good carbination. Has a decent texture which is hard to describe. Has a very nice finish. I think its a very tasty beer. Good flavor and very drinkable.

Bottle. Poured clear dark amber with an average frothy off-white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate caramel balanced aroma. Medium body with a watery texture. Medium balanced bitter sweet flavor with a light bitter finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.

Aroma was weak at best, and had your typical amber flavors of carmle, toffee and malt. the flavor was somewhat yeasty with carmel and toffee as well. some earthy kind of flavors as well. i could take it or leave it.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 heemer77 (4754) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - MAY 25, 2006
UPDATED: OCT 18, 2008 This poured a light orange color with a white head. The aroma was pears and bananas with some cinnamon and vanilla. Interesting in this style, but I suppose it is the malts coming out over the hops. The taste was bread crust with some caramel. There was some apples. The finish was smoth and made this a great session style beer.

Harpoon proves that American beers can be good. This is a nice bitter ale with a slightly carbonated palate.

This amber pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet. A light to medium bodied amber. Malts are fruity and sweet, touch of caramel. Hops are mild, grapefruity and herbal. For an amber it a little light in body and not very sweet, which makes it a little better than average in my book. Nice balance. Very easy drinking. Light and refreshing. The hop bitterness and lack of sweetness seem to make it more of an English Pale Ale than an amber. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

12 oz bottle. Copper coloured beer with a lasting off-whtie head. Earthy sweet malt, light caramel and toast, nice cherry fruitiness along with some berry sweetness. Very British smelling. Flavour is also sweet and fruity. Strong blackberry and appley flavour up front. Long sweet bready/yeasty finish. Just enought soft earthy hops to balance the sweet fruitiness. Decent brew.
