2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Sammy (5885) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 20, 2004
favored by my mates despite aggresive carbonation. Prefer a milder more understated pale, but could go with meat. On sweet side and thin, and some floral hops, and bitterness in finish. Clean
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Hawksfan17 (890) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 14, 2004
Pours amber, smells earthy and fruity as well. I kind of got a dried apple scent off of it and some cotton candy too. Has a simple woody, bitter taste to it. Not much else really, but a nice ale.

Not bad, not excellent. Clear amber pour small head, thin body, yeasty aroma and light carbonation. Smooth going down with a hoppy bite at the end. This is an enjoyable ale.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Pailhead (3326) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - NOV 6, 2004
Bottle: Light malty fruit aroma. Pours a transparent amber with a small white head that is gone somewhat quickly. Initial taste is lightly malty. The finish is kind of a watery caramel, metallic, and lightly hoppy. Can’t say I enjoyed this one all that much.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, New York, USA - NOV 2, 2004
Bottle @ brewery. Light gold with a smallish head. Aroma of light fruit and dried leaves. Taste is malty like every other freakin VT beer.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Silphium (2711) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - OCT 27, 2004
Clear amber body, thin off-white head. Tangy, almost sour body with little going on; I pick up some nutty flavors, a hint of fruit and maybe a bit of toast but not much else. Has a slight hops bitterness that persists through the sip. This is pretty dull.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Pigfoot (2266) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 14, 2004
Color is a clear and coppery hue, and a smallish head. Aroma is malty, soft, with hints of caramel and nuts. Taste is clean and well-behaved, goes down ultra-smooth.
But the finish is far too short, and carbonation seems high.
Seems to fit the bill for an easy, inoffensive session ale, on par with Pete’s Wicked, or something similar. Not to my particular taste.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jcc83 (137) - Athens, Georgia, USA - SEP 13, 2004
Poured a nice clean amber shade with a moderate white head. Aroma was nicely hopped and cirtusy, yet equally malty; this aroma reminded me strikingly of Anchor’s Steam beer. The flavor wasn’t quite as well-balanced, seeming primarily sweet and lacking sufficient bitterness. Good, but not a favorite.
