I found this beer very tasty and not overly done. Just right for a pale ale variety when I am looking for something a little above the standard pale.

I had this beer at Red Bones while it was on cask. Poured from a cask into a pint glass. The color is clear, bright amber with a finger and a half of foamy white head and some nice lacing left on the glass. The smell is slightly yeasty with a nice floral aroma that has a bit of a spicy note. Some citrus hop aroma is there in the nose as well and is is giving off the anticipation of a more complex beer. The taste is fruity with some citrus flavors in the very early taste that goes into a slight malt flavor with a spice flavor that mixes nicely together. The nice floral hops seem to be a bit more of a bitter pillow, less sharp but still bitter as the beer goes toward the end. The feel of this beer is a bit of surprise. It seems light then it’s medium body that you would get from the bottle. There is a bit of a smooth feel that seems to push instead of punch.

Very nice job with this one Harpoon! A light amber brew. Very well balanced. Not overly hopped and sticky like those American Pale Ales. I could even drink this all summer long!

12oz Bottle. Aromatic leafy and phenolic belgian yeast (if I had to guess, I’d say Bastogne). Pours a crystal clear rich, sparkling dark golden, with a nice froth of white head. Flavors are juicy and fresh. Bright clean hop character, but with a rich juicyfruit Belgian yeast finish. This is a very nice combination. Bright, drinkable, lots of flavor and a fun balance of hops and Belgian yeast. Rich maltiness has balance from both the fresh hop bitterness and the drier edges of the yeast products. Rather enjoyable.

Light copper pour with a small off white head. Excellent aroma, pine hops with an amazing spice kick of cloves, sage, pepper. Well balanced flavor, starts out hoppy, melds into the spices and finishes with a nice combo of the sweetness from the malt, the yeast and spices again. Medium body, I really enjoyed this beer, the best of a very good 12 bottle Harpoon mix pack.

12 oz. Clear orange-copper with a lasting creamy head. Nose of banana, spicy mango, and resiny wood. Flavor is banana-nut bread, mango, bitterish orange; then a drying resin and peppery oak finish. Near-medium body is smoothly carbonated, oily, and has a little hop tingle. This is a very pleasant surprise, and by far the best Harpoon beer amongst the dozen or so I’ve sampled.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate banana and cotton candy along with some light-moderate floral notes and faint citrus. It pours a bright transparent amber with a inch tall creamy off-white head with decent retention. The flavor starts with banana, cotton candy, and a touch of caramel. The finish has light-moderate citrus hoppiness and floral notes. Light-medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel.

Aroma is faintly hoppy but not as powerful as I would like. The beer is perfectly clear, but the color is a little bit dark. The taste is clean and crisp but uncomplicated. The palate is minimal, but with sufficient bitterness. Overall a good pale ale, but not quite what was mentioned in the description.

Fantastic pale beer. Bottle poured pint glass. I love Belgian yeast so naturally I gravitate towards this beer. Medium hoppiness after the strength of the Belgian yeast taste initially. Loved this beer and loving this Wintery Mix Harpoon 12 pack.
