3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from the Harpoon IPA-mix pack. Pours out a deep russet brown with a light tan head that sticks around a while. Light hoppy and roasty aromas. Flavor is plenty malty with a bitter hop backbone. Not overdone. Quite drinkable with a light sticky bitter finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cola-colored beer with a late forming medium light tan head. Nose of pine resin, grapefruit pith, and black licorice. Flavor is not nearly as hoppy as the aroma with subdued citrus and pine overlaying some toasted pumpernickel. Some good flavors here, but nothing is particularly pronounced.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Beer of month club. Pours from bottle to glass a cola color with foamy brown head that recedes with lots of lacing. Nose is some citrus and pine but also a soapy quality. Taste is like a fusion of an IPA (grapefruit) and black licorice. It's a little different - worth trying, but can't say this is a beer I will go out of my way for.

12oz bottle into Le Duvel - nose is roast, citrus and bad water. Sip creates a more positive experience with coffee and more coffee. Long hop bitter finish with an upfront dark chocolate bitterness. Brutish and lacking smoothness.

From a bottle. Pours very dark brown with almost no head. Tastes very bitter, bready, like coffee and hops. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like dark chocolate, coffee, and wheat.
