3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown-black with orange edges and a small, sturdy khaki head. The aroma actually is rather chocolatey, with some pistacchio, orange peel, lightly-roasted coffee, caramel, and faint raisin notes. The flavor is a rich, but mellow chocolate with some vanilla and sharp roasted notes. A woody bitterness comes through, especially toward the finish. There are some blackberry and sour cherry notes far in the distance, and a little bit of soap in the aftertaste. Pretty good, though.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
"Both bottles poured a lifeless amber-brown body with a faint trace of a head and a couple spots of lacing. Smells of Ovaltine and those rootbeer barrel shaped hard candies along with vanilla and cream. Medium bodied, flat with and odd finish that leaves a tacky sweetened coating. The "natural" chocolate flavor tastes extremely artificial and there is a soapy aftertaste with a cloying sweetness. Oh and itís also a bit nutty so itís got that going for it. Terrible beer, a joke of a stout...and I was excited to try this too."

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Heavy dark chocolate/cocoa nose, a tiny bit of coffee in there too. Very dark appearance, I couldnít detect a highlight color. The head receded fast and there was minimal lacing. Palate is heavy on the coffee, sharp, dry finish, a bit of astringent dark chocolate in there. Not particularly oily or chewy, but not dry either. Very nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle, drank a week after expiration. Opaque black, with a thinnish beige head. Sweet pronounced chocolate aroma. Big-time chocolate syrup taste going on, which more than suggests additive. Out of the beers that Iíve had with the overwhelming chocolate syrup taste, this is the cleanest, most drinkable. On the lighter side of full-bodied, retains a nice drinkability. Creamy and rich, this is a pretty cool and unique beer, great for a tasting sampler.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark brown with creamy head. Thin lace. Smells of chocolate and coffee. Taste of chocolate milk, nuts, and cocoa. A lighter palate then I expected. The finish has a slight burnt finish. A decent stout.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Chocolate, chocolate and chocolate. This beer tastes great but I could see where it would get overwhelming if you had more than one of these. Not like any other chocolate beer I have ever tasted.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark brown to black with a brown head. The aroma is milk chocolate and some roasted malts. The flavor is chocolate with something resembling chocolate milk in there as well. The flavor is pretty good, but the very end of the flavor as well as the aftertaste have something going on I didnít really like, though I am not sure how to describe it. The mouthfeel is creamy and the carbonation is medium to high.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Longneck, drink by US tax day. Very dark, tan head...the usual. This brings a striking chocolate bar wallop up front, not just the usual dark chocolate bitter roast, but actual chocolate sweetness. And yet, it isnít too sweet: the ending finishes fairly dry. The downside for me, though, is the back end is a bit watery, as though plain seltzer were waiting in the wings the whole time. Still good, but not as good as it is currently rated.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is of dark chocolate, coffee, and caramel. Of these, the chocolate is very strong. The color is a deep opaque brown, nearly black with a thin beige head that dissipates quickly. This beerís sweetness is very prominent, so much so that not much else is notable; there is a slight, mildly bitter finish, but the finish is much cleaner than other chocolate stouts I have tried. Medium to full body with a creamy texture and flat carbonation. In its category, this is a damn fine beer. As with all chocolate stouts, I wouldnít make this a session beer, but it is an amazing achievement of flavor that deserves attention.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Um, not good. This isnít worth my effort to review. It tasted like chocolate flavored cough medicine. Really sweet, really artificial and medicine-like, really bad and gooey. Not good.
