1.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
terrible terrible beer, Chocolate is overdone much in the manner a child would over-do the herseys syrup if allowed to mix it into milk themselves. Difficult to drink. Chocolate is balanced with vanilla in the way that drinking vanilla extract would balance bakers cocoa. AVOID.

"loads of creamy cocoa and chocolate, which is always nice, back and forth between real and artificial, but it’s done pretty well. kind of a small stout...this much chocolate would work very vrey well in an imperial, but still works well here. this beer disappeared faster than any in recent memory, so that says something right there. Thanks Lou...a chocolate treat. Quite nice for a mix-pack offering!"

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A dark brown stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, very sweet milk chocolate with vanilla, Nestlé quick, nice if a bit cloying. In mouth, dry powdery chocolate malt with light mineral notes, grassy hops, OK. On tap at Best Western Plus Waterbury.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malts and some hints of coffee. Taste is chocolate and coffee. Almost chocolate milk like with some carbonation. A bit thin but smooth. Decent sweet stout.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This beer pours dark brown nearly black and is nearly opaque. Only a little bit of light makes it through at the very edges of the glass. From the pour it produces a one inch beige collar of thick foam. The head hangs on well and makes some thin lacing on the glass. There are strong chocolate and dark roasted malty notes in the aroma. This is a strait forward medium to full bodied beer with a fairly thin texture for the style. It has a simple but very tasty rich dark chocolaty character with some sweetness from the malt as well as loads of roasted/toasted notes. I also get some bitter dark coffee notes that hook up with the light bitterness from the hops.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Black with a quickly dissolving tan head. Chocolate, sundried date and sweetened cocoa butter aroma. Sweet, sugary but slightly dry. Medium body, well-carbonated and bitter, a little dry finish. Ok.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Boston. Jet black pour, thick off-white head. Delicious aromas of dark chocolate nibs, espresso, sticky date pudding. Smooth as silk- loved the consistency. Rich and chocolatey till the finish, yet the finish wasn't treacly like some chocolate stouts. A real winner- will look for it again for sure.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
Nice pour aroma is bakers chocolate. Sweet chocolate hits you slight bitterness. Milky kind of a one trick pony but chocolate stout is what you get. The chocolate notes in sam Adams and anchor beers have a lot more backbone to them. Kind of artificial. Still a decent drink glad I tried it but there’s a lot better stuff out there.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle, dark pour, dark chocolate aroma, taste of chocolate malts, slight roasty flavor (I wish it was a little more roasty) but never the less, a good tasting stoudt. Thin feel for a stoudt, but again tasty.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle to taster. Bottle says to enjoy by 03/15/14. Looks good; a mostly opaque dark brownish black with thin beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes of chocolate and mild roast. Solid on the palate. Enjoyable.
