3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
It pours a pitch black yielding the same color body. A foamy level brown head appears, closer to an off-white to the top of the head and gets darker closer to the body. The head is about an inch and slowly dies to a beautiful film leaving some nice speckled lacing around the sides of the pint glass. The smell is roasty sweet between milk chocolate, coffee and malts. The taste is exactly the same with a bit of light vanilla as the beer warms. The palate is about a medium and a bit watery, leaving nothing harsh on the tongue. Overall, this was a good milk/sweet stout that I would come back to.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a dark cola brown color with an cream-colored head that dissipates quickly. Sweet cocoa flavor with touch of roasted malt bitterness. Nicely done.

Anybody know what the difference is between this and the BELGIAN chocolate stout? Me either. My ratings are pretty much the same. And from what I recall, the labels looked pretty similar too. Oh well. Still a decent tasty brew. Clear dark brown pour with mahogany highlights and fading brown head. Aroma is tootsie roll and hershey syrup. Flavor is more cocoa powdery, with a coffee/burnt note as well. Not amazing. Not horrible. I think this is the same beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle - pours black with light brown head and modest lacing. Nose is straight up chocolate. Flavor adds a sweet creaminess. Honestly this is cold milk chocolate in a cup with a watered down taste. Hints of coffee. light sweetness with moderate bitterness. ST Choklat’s little brother. dry-ish finish. I usually look down my nose at Harpoon, but I’m glad I picked this one up.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Chocolatey sweet aroma. Palate is a little thin. Taste isn't too sweet, has a nice bitterness to it.

Smells like a bag of grain, which I take as a good thing. The maltiness is awesome and the chocolate really comes through.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 3/15/2013. Pours clear almost pitch black color with a 1 finger fairly dense mocha head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big milk chocolate, chocolate syrup, toffee, vanilla bean, light roasted malt, caramel, and light coffee. Very nice aromas with big chocolate notes and nice balance. Taste of milk chocolate, vanilla bean, caramel, toffee, roasted malt, toast, coffee, and light cream. Slight coffee bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel, toast, toffee, roasted malt, and coffee on the finish for a good bit. Good flavor balance with a fair amount of robustness; but it feels a little watered down for a stout; zero cloying flavors are present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and slick mouthfeel that is ok; feels a bit thin. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a good sweet stout. Fairly robust with nice chocolate dessert flavor; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The pour is dark with a nice tan head that fades into lacing. The aroma is quite pleasant with an abundance of chocolate standing out. The taste begins nice and sweet with a creamy mouthfeel as advertised. However, there is a really off putting taste about half way through that lasts through the finish. It’s almost like a tootsie roll and certainly some weird artificial flavoring. Eh, disappointing after seeing the scores this beer gets!

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Benjamin’s. Rich chocolate malt milk aroma. Rich, sweet, with roasted bitterness and light hops. Dark black opaque with creamy lacing tan head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts sweet with tons of chocolate malted milkshake. Roasty. Stays sweet throughout but not cloying. Finish is milk chocolate sweet and nutty with a bit of carbonic tang. Chocolate malted after.

12oz bottle poured into glass. Was very surprised by how much chocolate was packed into this bottle. Really sweet but not to the point where it kills the experience. Super smooth and really easy to drink. Would be a great dessert beer.
