2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 hopscotch (7285) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 13, 2010
Draft… Mostly clear, burnt orange ale with a small, wispy, white head. Decent retention. The nose is toasty, biscuity and grassy. Light to medium-bodied with a mildly creamy mouthfeel and tickling carbonation. The flavor leans bitter, but not by much. Pleasant, minerally hops lend to a crisp, moderately bitter finish. Thirst quenching, but lackluster.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cletus (6025) - Connecticut, USA - AUG 17, 2005
Light coppery texture gives way to reddish when the beer settles with a pinkish white head. Smells of pepper. Taste is much sweeter than I expect out of an ESB with a decent slightly bitter finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dickinsonbeer (5077) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - OCT 28, 2002
Decent ESB. Nice malty background with a good amount of hops but not enough for my liking. Also not enough bittering hops but still good. Nice and smooth and easy to drink.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 beerguy101 (4825) - Newark, California, USA - MAY 15, 2003
Medium amber gold color. Medium head. Aroma is malty, slightly sweet. A medium bodied bitter. Malts are mild and a touch sweet. Hops are a little spicy. Not very bitter for an ESB. Mild and fairly flavorful. Well balance. Tasty, but more like an amber than an ESB. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - APR 20, 2002
Appearance: tawny red/orange, decent-sized but fast-fading head, slightly translucent; aroma weak, but some nice fruit and hop notes. Flavor really pretty boring; there’s some hops, some malt, but it all feels like there’s nothing at the center, like its just a surface with nothing inside. Somewhat bitter finish; little sweetness, medium body. Not a good ESB.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 ClarkVV (3578) - Allston, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 9, 2002
UPDATED: JUL 17, 2003 this started out great. . . but then went no where. it has almost no body. just a nice fruity, hoppy nose that peters off leaving me thinking. why didnt they finish making this beer? MORE MORE MORE, thats all it needed.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Cavie (3249) - Fort Worth, Texas, USA - AUG 28, 2010
Tap at the Saucer. Dark orange to almost reddish appearance. White head. Small aroma. Some amount of sweet candy on the nose but not much else. Flavor is immediately dry and bitter. Almost a smacky bitter; lingers on the tongue for a length of time. Slight sweet finish. Unimpressed.
