3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cranberries evident in the fruity flavor and aroma, as well as in the not-so-subtle tartness. The flavor more clearly reflects cranberry than does the more vaguely fruity aroma. The beer has a complementary reddish tint in the otherwise deep amber, clear ale. Some hop bitterness is apparent. Crisp, slightly astringent feel with near medium body and medium carbonation. My favorite aspect is the rather marked transition from sweet to tart and, with different timing, from tart fruit flavor to a more balanced and malty aftertaste: well crafted, but there may be only so far one can go with a cranberry ale.

Thanks to jcwattsrugger for the share. Cheers, John! Pours a clear brown with a white head. Nose is biscuity malt, berry, and a light bitterness. Flavor is similar with biscuity malt and very light bitterness. Lingering berry into the finish. Not my bag.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear amber with thin off-white head; aroma is light and malty, as is the flavor; slight hint of fruit in the finish along with a dry yet sweet maltiness; feels fizzy. There is a hint of cranberry throughout. Not a bad beer. It kinda grew on me as I went through all 12 ounces.

Disappointing. Captures the the tannins of the cranberries more than anything. Very one-dimensional. Better when coupled with hearty or heavily-seasoned food.

Bottle at home. tulip at fridge temp. pours a 1 finger creamy head that doesn’t fade. Looks like burnt plums in the body. candied cranberry fake syrupy taste. tart on the nose. semi-sweet. Taste is very sweet up front, tart and dry at the finish. Middle is like cough syrup.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Thanks to TNT for picking this one up. Tasted on Thanksgiving and served in a sampler glass. Pours an auburn color. Nose has a nice cranberry tartness and backing malt. Flavor falls through with too much breadiness. Over the top malt with cranberry falling to the background. Nose was by far the best part of this one.

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Odd greenish-red color (oak) with a thin head. Aroma is cranberry and spice. The cranberry taste is very light, a little more evident in the finish.
Rather disappointing. It’s not horrible but my least favorite Harpoon to date.
