COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed using locally-grown cranberries, this beer captures the spirit of a true New England Thanksgiving: the harvest celebration and the sharing of food amongst friends. Fermented with a traditional ale yeast that lets the cranberries provide the signature aroma, this beer is balanced by the Ďbreadyí notes of the Vienna and Munich malts.

12 ounce bottle - $1.29 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Best By: 02/15/12.

Appearance: Pours a clear, golden-mahogany body with a small, whipped, bone white head.

Smell: A simple nose of oven-toasted bread crusts atop a faintly tart fruit accent that isnít immediately identifiable as cranberry.

Taste: Bready, toasty Munich malt with a light incorporated caramelesque sweetness to it. A sip of subtly tart cranberry juice, thatís all. Very little in the way of hops or bitterness. Drying, minutely fruity, malty finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Harpoon played it safe with the cranberry here, but, maybe they just didnít want a Cranberry Lambic on their hands.

FROTHINGSLOSH (5045) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 5, 2012
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel color with a medium sized foamy beige head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was faint tart berries and a touch of nutty malt. The flavor was nutty and a touch roasty with a faint vague tart berry note and a sour tangy finish. Medium body. Disappointing.

Malt, grass, and cranberry in the aroma. Standard malty flavor, with some sweet, acidic cranberry in the finish. I donít think this should be categorized as a fruit beer--itís more a fall seasonal--but I still like this beer a lot. Itís a lot better than the vile cranberry lambic from Sam Adams, for example.

Bottle. Pours amber with an off white head. The aroma has a light cranberry fruity sweetness, with light toasty malts. The flavor has a bready and toasted malty base, some light cranberry sweetness, low bitterness, and some grainy notes. Better than I expected it would be.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with small off white head that leaves spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is cranberry and wheat. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet fruity malt with cranberry and sweet finish. A decent fruit beer from Harpoon.

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine and More in Huntersville, NC. The beer itself starts out impressive: it pours a nice dark amber/copper color with a little bit of a tan head. Aroma is surprising. I was expecting to get a lot of cranberry nose in this beer, but it was all rather muted, just a little bit of malt and the cranberry seems non existent. Taste is fruity with some malt notes and then a little bit of cranberry sneaks in on the end of it. Aftertaste is from the malt lingering on your taste buds. Overall, this is a nice beer, but I am a little disappointed it. I thought this beer would be refreshing, instead it was just another fruit beer with nothing that makes it stand out from the rest.
