3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 iugrad93 (266) - Indiana, USA - DEC 20, 2011
Poured a clear copper color with small white head and little lacing. Aromas of hay, with light notes of cranberries. Taste is sweet, not as much tartness as expected and though the cranberries are there, I expected more. Overall, pretty decent brew from the malts but was left wanting more cranberry flavor and more of an effervescent palate.

Malt aroma with light tangy fruits. Dark orange color with a medium off white head. Light beginning with a sweet tangy finish. Might have been a little old. The place I got it from is know for that. (Davis St. Package Store Oakville, CT)

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with small off white head that leaves spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is cranberry and wheat. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet fruity malt with cranberry and sweet finish. A decent fruit beer from Harpoon.

Bottle. Pours clear ruby red with a small off-white head. Aromas of caramel malt, red berries and sour cherry, and wet gym socks. Flavor is a little sour malt, raisin, and slightly tart cherry/grape; a little cranberry in the aftertaste. Medium carbonation, thin, and dry. Not great.

I’ve seen this on the shelves the last few years and never thought once about buying it. This year someone left a bottle at my house, so I guess this is the year.
Pours a medium copper color with a good sized white head that displays moderate retention and lace. Smells malty with caramel and brown sugar and that distinctive aroma of cranberries. Smell is sweet and fruity and not bad actually. Taste is exactly what I expected from the aroma. Brown bread, syrupy, caramel, cranberry sauce. It was fun at first, but about half way down the glass I got real tired of the fruity sweetness. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation, sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel. One sweet and fruity beer that I’m glad I got to try, but that I can pass up again next year.

12oz bottle. Pours a surprisingly deep golden brown with a small creamy off white head. Aroma is mostly soft malt graininess with some notes of cranberry, quite sweet. Flavor starts subdued sweet, again mostly just a soft creamy malt note, a bit of a candyish cranberry note, not the slightest tart or sharp. Finishes a bit grainy but not terrible, just a bit bland. Medium body and a sharper carbonation. Not wholly unpleasant but nothing too grand, just not much going on.
