COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed using locally-grown cranberries, this beer captures the spirit of a true New England Thanksgiving: the harvest celebration and the sharing of food amongst friends. Fermented with a traditional ale yeast that lets the cranberries provide the signature aroma, this beer is balanced by the ‘bready’ notes of the Vienna and Munich malts.

Bottle. Enjoy by: 01/15/14. A clear ruby pour with a thin beige head. Cranberries, wheat, cereal grains, and light caramel in the aroma. Goes down thin and crisp. Wheat and sweet cereal grains start things off taste-wise. Just a tad white bready in the middle. An estery cranberry sweetness/tartness follows. Some sour lemons are present at the end. Overly sweet throughout. Not too impressive on its own, but might actually accompany a turkey dinner quite nicely...

$1.75 Bottle, Wine Warehouse, CHO. Pours brownish red with a tiny dusting of a head. Smells of cheap lager, cranberry, grape... almost a champagne smell. Tastes of heavy cranberry, almost candied, but not sweet. Finishes with a strong cheap lager taste.

Sampled in the Harpoon brewery taproom. Light grain aroma. Amber, offwhite cream. Light fruity grain. Ok body, not much power.

THOUGHTS: I’m about five months behind on entering ratings. The temptation is to drink this one cold, because warm cranberry juice is pretty harsh. But if this beer is too cold you can’t taste the cranberry at all. Nothing special. Pleasant base beer balanced by the lightly sweet and rather bitter cranberries. Might try this with Thanksgiving dinner this year if they put it out again. Just enough fruit to make it interesting. Overall it’s nice for what it is. The base beer would probably be a decent session ale. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a flat, light brown with a large to huge, off-white head that diminished very slowly and left excellent lacing. The aroma had light to moderate toasted, nutty and caramel malts; light grassy hops; light yeast; and cranberries. The initial flavor was light to moderately sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet and light to moderately bitter with a slightly longer than average duration. There was caramel malt, cranberry, maybe some grassy hops, but that might have just been the cranberry, some toasted malt and slight nutty malts. The nearly medium body was a little dry and then rather dry like cranberry juice with fairly fizzy carbonation and a dry and slightly astringent finish.

Pours clear auburn with a thin off-white head. Cranberry comes through in the aroma but is mostly lost in the taste except for a bit of fruity tartness in the finish.

12/03/13 RAK gift from Jodi. By no means was this a bad beer; it just didn't have much of a flavor. No cranberry presence. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Light reddish-brown. Medium size head. Seems to have more cranberry aroma than flavor. Most of the cranberry taste is in the after taste. Not a bad beer but won’t drink again.
