Red-Gold, nice parchment coloured head with striped lacing. Aroma of subdued hop and roasted nut. Smooth malt, slight nuttiness, very mild and neutral, maybe a bit of pie crust in there somewhere......pretty decent, comfy beer.

Malty with a nutty (but not sweet) flavor. Hints of spice and mint. Thin and watery finish.

Sample at the 2012 Cincinnati Brew-haha. Clear amber color. Minimal off-white head. Some lace. Crisp carbonation. Drier texture, easy to drink. Kind of a boring lagery aroma with some hop bitterness. Some spice. Little tangy sweetness. A decent, moderately hoppy amber

Pours a clear reddish amber. Khaki colored head on top. Smooth malty forefront with some light hop, mostly spicy, notes in the finish.

Copper color, modest head, no lacing. Aroma is cookie and toffee. Flavor similar, sweetish but with.a very watery palate. Unimpressive.

A well bred American interpretation of a classic Irish Red, Harpoon nails it. Pours reddish light brown with a rocky beige head that leaves a good bit of lacing behind. Malty and earthy nose that carries over to a balanced and even quaff, accented with light caramel malt and a bit of copperiness in the clean finish. A good session brew, Celtic is a fine match for most pub grub.

Twelve ounce bottle from Remke/biggs in Delhi Township, tasted on April 2, 2011. Medium to dark amber color, small tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing, good firm but not overpowering malty aroma, medium to strong malty flavor with fruity elements--slight astringency is a drawback, though. Still, probably the best Harpoon beer I’ve had to date--not sure how authentic it is to style but pretty enjoyable.
