Papsoe (9663), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 16, 2005 (Bottle 35,5 cl) "Hibernian" another word for "Irish" and in style this is a true Irish Red Ale - from Boston, the Irish capital of the US. Dark amber with a weak light brown head. Nutty smell and also nuts in the aroma with a touch of caramel and a nice, dry bitterness. Reminds me a lot of a typical British Bitter. argo0 (6018), Washington DC, USA Jun 3, 2005 (12oz bottle, bottled on 1/25/05): Clear amber body topped by small beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, some anise, hint of metallic, peat. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, herbal hoppy, some bread. Light body. Drinkable but forgettable. kp (6000), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 02/21/2002

Clear deep amber, thin white head, light sweet malt aroma, rich sweet malt flavor, a nice touch of carmel, almost a butterscotch, just enough hops to balance

muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Feb 29, 2004 12 oz bottle. Fors some reason, this beer has eluded me for a couple of years, so I am unreasonably excited to finally have one to rate. Pours a clear medium copper, smallish but lasting off-white head. Decent, light malty sweet aroma with a tinge of pine. Fairly dry and herbal all the way through, a bit thin, not bad but I don't think I'll need to have it again. hopscotch (4379), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Apr 2, 2004 Crystal clear, copper ale with a small, creamy, beige head. Great retention and nice lacing. The aroma is malty, spicy and rich with notes of caramel, chocolate and maple. Good, hearty flavor. Malty, but well-bittered for balance. Hints of maple syrup and cinnamon. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Probably a tad underrated, but then again I tend to be fairly generous with my scores.
