COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Last fall our brewers were improvising a new beer in our 10-barrel kettle. We had some fresh pumpkin puree leftover from a recent brew of our UFO Pumpkin, so the brewers threw that in the kettle with a bit of molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, and some roasted malts. It turned out to be delicious, so we thought we’d share it with everyone.

Description
Half imperial stout, half pumpkin ale, with aromas of dried fruit, chocolate, and freshly baked pumpkin pie, this black full-bodied stout is ready to be enjoyed now or saved for a chilly fall evening.

Dark brown color, spicy aroma. Light malt and spice taste. Hop bitterness overwhelms and lingers.

Bottle. Pours black with a short tan head. Aroma of nutmeg, molasses, chocolate, light pumpkin and cinnamon. Flavor was smooth & bozzy with molasses, roasted pumpkin, chocolate, ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon. Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation.

Bottle:   Deep brown, burnt brown sugar hues, thin sudsy sandy head, spotty lacing.   Strong allspice nose, molasses, caramelized sugar to the point of almost being burnt, along with faint spruce tips or something similar.   Strong on the tongue, similar to the nose but a notch higher.   Very warming, certainly noticing the 10.5%.   Roasted malts are there, but hidden by the strong molasses and allspice.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   More of a spiced beer than a Stout, but at least this one is great for sipping on a cool autumn evening.   Strong and assertive.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black-brown color with a medium sized foamy dark tan head. The aroma was spicy cinnamon, nutmeg, bread, molasses and almost fruitcake. The flavor was sweetish bread, fruitcake, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and molasses. Long spicy finish with lingering ginger, cinnamon and molasses. Moderately full bodied and creamy. Interesting.

Deep rich stout with all the fall spices tossed into a pumpkin ale. Great for those cold autumn nights when a heavy brew is the answer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bomber pours deep amber with ruby edges, quick tan head. lots of spice in the nose. taste begins with spicing, quick dull earth, leading to a flash of sweetness and light booze burn on the finish. dryness lingers on the palate long after the finish.

Very nice aroma where the pumpkin half predominates. Taste is an interesting mix of stout and pumpkin. This is pleasant and memorably different. Finishes a little syrupy-sweet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bottle. Black pour, thin brown ring. Smells like the greatest pumpkin beer ever made. Realistic pumpkin pie aromas; nutmeg, clove, brown sugar & cinnamon, molasses with roasted malts, chocolate. Smells like a chocolate pumpkin pie. Big & bold, heavy, and strong. Overwhelming. Sweet squash, spicy cinnamon tingle, mouthfuls of chocolate stout. I have to honestly admit, I think I like this better than Pumking. We will have to see how it will compare to Warlock. Imperial Pumpkin Stout, for sure! (3862)

From the tap. Glass rimmed with cinnamon sugar was odd, but it added to the enjoyment. Tastes of chocolate and pumpkin pie ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, the seventh in our mini fest of Beers Of Fall. Deep deep mahogany, with a low brown head that doesn’t last long. Very sweet nose, lots of burnt sugar, all-spice, gourd. Sweet and hearty palate, very full bodied, lots of molasses, all-spice, nutmeg, roasty pumpkin. Whatever roasted malt there may be here, it takes a back seat to the pumpkin and sugars and spice. I really enjoyed this, but was greatful to share the bottle among friends, as it was quite sweet.
