3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 _Z_ (12) - Alabama, USA - JAN 28, 2011
From bottle, poured into a glass. Color is dark amber/gold, but rather transparent.
Smell was very weak to me, and I couldn’t detect anything unique about it. It just smells like beer.
Taste is pretty pleasing, however, of the two IPAs I have ever tried, it is the second best. VERY (VERY!) nice balance between the malt and hop flavors. In fact, balance is the key word here- I think this beer could be very popular if it appeared on more shelves. Finish is mildly bitter.
I wouldn’t mind having some more :)

Bottle poured into shaker. Aroma of orange peel and light pine. Frothy one finger head. Not as hoppy as most IPAs. A good easy drinking IPA for those new to the style.

I’m not big on IPAs, but this offering from Harpoon is refreshing. Very hoppy but without the bite that many IPAs bring to the table, it’s a great beer to sit back and enjoy.

Dorée avec fin brume, mousse blanche.
Note de citron et houblon avec un léger palais de malt. L’amertume est légère avec qcq notes de pamplemousse. Pas mauvaise mais un peu en retrait par rapport de nombreuses autres.

On draft at Chief O’Neill’s. Pours a clear light amber with a whit head. Nice hoppy aroma. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, with some hops. Ok beer, but needs more hop flavor.

Tap @ DCA and a few other spots on a week-long trip to the East Coast. Clear gold pour with a short white head leaving a coarse lace. Definitely in the British IPA mold, Harpoon’s IPA has a mild malt nose and a toasty medium body with light spruce hops in the middle and finish. Moderate carbonation with a short, watery finish with some soapiness in the aftertaste. Sessionable, but not all that great so I don’t see why one would want to.
