Nice IPA. Good balance and nice hops. Wish I had the room to bring home another 12pk like I did before, Maybe next time.

Lighter brown, small clinging white head. Smells of citrus hops. Slightly sweet malt finish. Not bad in the balance department, but this beer drinks more like a pale ale to me.

Mmmm... grapefruit. Had this on tap when it was my turn to buy rounds. After some Miller Lite’s, I suppose anything is good. But I liked this. The flavor, and the slightly bitter aftertaste, made it a good beer.

Odd. I would have sworn that I had rated the Hibernian, but it isn’t showing up here. In any case, orange appearance, slightly hoppy nose. Some grapefruit flavors, balanced body, bitter. Somehow though, nothing really stands out. So so.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2011 Rerate Just not as enamored this time around. Flavorful IPA, but pretty pedestrian. Original 3.7 On tap at Legal Seafoods, Crystal City, Va. Light orange appearance, fluffy white head, good lacing. Fresh sprucey aroma. Grapefruit, citrusy flavor, west coast hops very evident but not overpowering. Finishes strong. Good companion to crab stuffed shrimp. Excellent IPA.

A decent IPA with a good bite behind it. Pours an orangish color, smells and tastes of citrus/grapefruit. The citrus overpowers the flavor of hops however.

Poured a clear orange yellow, a much clearer yellow than I woudl've expected. Aroma was more yeast than hops with a bit of grapefruit hidden underneath. On tasting it I got some grapefuit at the front and back of the beer with almost a lull in between. Not as much hops as I'm used to in an IPA. I found it relatively okay but not as good as I had hoped. Maybe it's the tap?

Citrusy aroma with a clear golden body. Has a nice sharp hop bite with a bready finish.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2004 Pours a pale orange or dark yellow, with decent head and lacing. Aroma is citrus/orangish.Flavor is of some fruitness and malt, but the hoppiness is too light and not bitter enough, considering this is supposed to be an IPA. A decent beer, but not a good IPA.

Pours a pale orange with a sizeable white head (although I cracked it open a little colder than I probably should have); lacing down the glass. Aroma is floral and of orange/citrus. Not very sweet; some hops in the end but not very much considering this is classified as an IPA. Doesn't stand up great as an IPA, but this is a decent ale that is drinkable and is probably one of Harpoon's better offerings.
