3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 igneous1 (1469) - Davenport, Iowa, USA - JUL 16, 2002
first thing i noticed was this is probably the clearest IPA i’ve ever seen. moderate citrus aromas and fairly well-balanced. not too bitter. pretty light body for an IPA
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Drew (2413) - Kent, Ohio, USA - JUL 15, 2002
Medium gold color, 3/4 inch head lasted halfway thru, good lacing. Moderately hopped and left a long thin hop taste. Initially seemed hoppier, but that may have been due to a slight lack of malt. Refreshing, though.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Diego (79) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 15, 2002
Not the worlds best IPA. Lacks the true hop bite and has minimal head. I did enjoy the aroma and thought...Wondered, if the draft might be just a tad better. Still, any IPA is pretty darn good as far as I’m concerned. Makes me feel like getting out there and mowing the lawn, er, I don’t really have a lawn yet but...Some day.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 VENOM (941) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 15, 2002
Clear gold. Foamy but small white head. Light carbonation. Yeasty aroma, grapes and light floral hops. Medium light body. Fruity with a grape juice hoppiness. Mediocre malt depth and a lackluster hop profile. I remember this being better. Finishes with a fruity alcohol mix and slight bitterness. What happened?
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Yakbreath (13) - Macomb, Michigan, USA - JUL 10, 2002
Not as hoppy as most IPA’s, but a wonderful beer on tap when dining out or from a bottle(into a glass) doing yardwork
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 SmellGood (339) - Memphis, Tennessee, USA - JUL 1, 2002
Decent IPA. Not as heavily hopped as I had hoped but very enjoyable. Where was the sediment?
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 brewbandit (312) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JUL 1, 2002
Decent head on a pale golden amber body. Floral nose. Flavor is a balance of malt and hops though very light for an IPA.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 friejose (24) - Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 26, 2002

True to style, this is extremely heavily-hopped. Lots of aroma to go with it. Hopheads, enjoy.

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2003 Another nice offering from Harpoon. Very true to style with a moderately agressive hop flavor and aroma. One of my favorite IPA's.
