Very different IPA, way too strong for an IPA. Bitter aftertaste, even more bitter than the ESB. Yuck. Worth trying, but nothing i would ever buy a case of

Much smoother on tap than in bottles. Has a nice flavor. On a second rating, though, I really donít care for it all that much. It lacks a lot of flavor and although its pretty to look at, I wonít buy it again.

I like IPAís, so I thought I would try this one. More a deep golden color than copper, big white rapidly dissipating head. Hoppy aroma, though not as strong as some. Very smooth with a slight bitter finish. Not a lot of bite to this one, seems to be fairly well balanced with the malts. This is not a bad IPA, just average. I like mine with a little more punch to them.

Not much bite on the finish, a very mild IPA. Thanks JPKnight22 for this brew.

A fine IPA and one of the most balanced IPAís Iíve tried. While hoppy, it doesnít have that one-sided hoppiness of most IPAís. It has a nice balance to it that lets the malt shine through as well. I swear I detected the taste of cloves, similar to a hefeweizen, which only added to my enjoyment. A fine beer. I wish it were distributed here in the Midwest.

Hoppy. Very bold and bitter, with a slight undertone of malty sweetness and a touch of citrus. One of Harpoonís best brews.

Super hoppy. The epitome of hop. Good for what it is, but itís not my deal.

Malty/caramelly, not too much hop. Very English, which gains it points all around; most domestic IPAs that Iíve had seem to be the result of some sort of late-night fantasy of "Letís make a sort of Star Trek Mirror Universe equivalent of Bud Light, with Astounding Amounts of Flavor and a goatee on the can because thatís how things work in Mirror Universes!" Donít get me wrong, I like hops, but itís refreshing to get a domestic IPA that eases off them a little.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2003 Has a golden color and a fruity/hop smell. Taste is of hop and finishes with a crisp bitterness. Overall a pretty standard IPA.
