2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
RE-RATE: Interestingly, nearly one year since I last tasted this. Iím giving it a slight bump in score as I believe I was a bit harsh originally. Not much of a Cascade or hop nose. More like dirty gym socks. Caramel malt tickles your tongue somewhat up front and quickly subsides to an astringent hop middle and a well balanced ending. I still contend that this brew does nothing to distinguish itself, as it seems to be an IPA geared towards a person who is just dabbling into the world of beer. Not quite hoppy enough and not even close to full bodied or full flavored, although it does improve as it warms. ORIGINAL: (3-26-01) This is a poor excuse for an IPA. The six pack I had was out of balance with no distinguishing chacteristics whatsoever.

An excellent IPA; compares well with Hop Devil; Harpoon beers superior to Sam Adams beers when comparing the Boston breweries.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
One of the top pale ales out there. Hoppy and smooth, is at the top of its class for IPAís.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
More of a golden than a copper color. IPAís have grown on me, so maybe after trying a few more Iíll have to re-rate this one. Itís too hoppy for my current tastes. It is very palatable however, which is something I really enjoy in a beer. I like the sensation after taking a good size sip.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Produces a nice head and clear copper color. Good hoppie taste with a nice slighlty bitter aftertaste. This is the first one I have had, but I would have to say it ranks among my favorite IPAís.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear, dark golden. Nice head and lace. Dry hopped nose with hints of cooked vegetables(thats what i smell) Sweet but subdued malt backbone washed away by dry hopped bitterness. Its decent but lacks any real character, seems like it was thrown together. Does grow on you as you drink it, the flavors meld together a bit. Average.

Great IPA. But still falls short of the hop devil.

Way too much hops for my liking, even for an I.P.A. , still a good beer, but definitely the breweries worst beer.
