2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Onslow (639) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - AUG 23, 2010
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Medium to light amber brew with one finger of off white head. Aroma is dominated by light resin hops but with a bit of a metallic bite to it. Taste is light malt and moderate hops bitter in the finish. A rather offputting ethanol flavor creeps into all aspects of the taste. Very light in palate and rather nondescript overall. In a world full of excellent IPA’s this one seems to need a reason to exist...

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 daliesque (60) - Texas, USA - AUG 12, 2010
nice smell, and nice beginning, tastes weak - really flimsy ending, not hoppy enough. i’m beginning to see a theme in the harpoon beers.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 neuromatt (610) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 11, 2010
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2011 This is a revision of my rating of the tap version from 2010-08-02. On tap at the brewery, served in a tasting glass. Pours clear amber with a small white head. The head fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are notes of pine and spice, along with pale malts and some caramel. The flavour is fairly dry with pine, spice, pepper, flowers and some caramel. The finish is moderate in length and clean, with a slight hop profile. On the palate, it is medium in body with a dryish texture and average carbonation. Overall, this is not a great IPA. As I felt before, it starts out with a decent enough aroma, but the malts thoroughly disappoint. 2011-11-25

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 mixmasterob (637) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - AUG 7, 2010
On draught @ Cypress Street for $1. Poured clear, golden with lively carbonation. Nice frothy one finger white head, left lace all over the glass. Aroma was a bit laid back although there was a hop presence. Hop flavors were all toned down, muddled a bit. Bready malts and some hay were also present. Very smooth. Everything in this beer was laid back making it somewhat forgettable. Although, its a good option for a cheap house brew, just nothing special about it.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerViking (847) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 5, 2010
On tap at the Jackalope in Austin, pale amber with quite a light flavour for an American IPA. Sweetness balanced with hops, refreshing.
