Ehh, ok IPA. Will drink once and awhile. Not the typical IPA though. Citrus flavor. Not much else.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Christian (8042) - Odense, DENMARK - MAR 3, 2009
Cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma is floral, grapefruit, orange peel, peach and grass with a little caramelly malt. Sweetish with a decent hopflavour and bitterness. Nothing special
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ben4321 (2056) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - FEB 25, 2009
Aroma: Hoppy, floral
Appearance: White fluffy head, dark golden color
Flavor: Citrus, floral...right amount of bitterness
Palate: Light/Med Body, Slight Alcohol finish
Overall Impression:
This is one of my go to beer when its nothing but macros and well-known micros in a store. Its a nice IPA, certainly not an amazing beer, but I’ll drink it again and again.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 altonbrownd (3419) - Brussels, BELGIUM - FEB 19, 2009
Northfield, MA. Medium copper body with large head. Hoppy nose with floral notes. Taste of grapefruity, but also malts and caramel. A good IPA.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 mnovacanes (61) - Crestwood, Illinois, USA - FEB 19, 2009
Since this was on tap, this will not be as thorough of a review as I would like, but rather represents a ballpark estimate:
Appearance: actually not bad; good head retention for a white, fluffy head;
Aroma: was not impressed; somewhat closed; have to default to an average rating and this might be giving the benefit of the doubt
Flavor: did notice some fruity citrus from cascade hops but it was like they were skimping on the amount that they added; no threat of being bitter, but also needed something else to add complexity, even if it was malt
Mouthfeel: did not stand out in my mind as terrible so I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt again
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Snojerk321 (2954) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 16, 2009
12oz bottle. Pours a clear medium golden color with a small white head. Pretty nice nose of citrus and apricot and sweet malt. Flavor and finish was nicely balanced, a decent IPA.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 tgncc (1796) - Bellmore, New York, USA - FEB 14, 2009
Pretty standard IPA for the most part. The aroma was pleasant, citrusy hops, sweet caramel malts. The aroma was a little closer to an IIPA than an IPA, in that the bitterness and sweetness in the aroma are both strong components. The appearance is very true to the style, reddish gold, with a white head. The flavor is alternately sweet caramel, and grapefruit bitter. Pleasing grapefruit bitter wins out in the finish. Decent IPA.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BroSpud (1124) - , Massachusetts, USA - FEB 10, 2009
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2009 Another one of the affordable local options I often find in the fridge. It’s OK, not spectacular and isn’t made by Anheuser-Busch.
updated 6/09 - been drinking these more often lately since they are the best offering at my golf course and realize I like them more than I thought. Upping the rating.
