I cant believe I havent rated this one yet, I swear there are about 100 beers that Ive been having for a decade that I forget to rate. Anyways, what can I say about Harpoon IPA that hasnt been said, but if this and say Sierra Nevada or Sam Adams are the only "craft" beers on tap somewhere, Im grabbing this.

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2011 30/09/2011 1Pt 6Fl. Oz. bottle @ Thomas’ place (2011-473) Thanks to Thomas and Annelies for the bottle!

Clear orange beer, big creamy yellowish head, pretty stable, nice lacing. Aroma: very fruity, exotic fruits, some plastic, bit chemical, pineapple. MF: ok carbon, light to medium body. Taste: little fruity, very bitter hops taking over, more fruitiness, touch of sweet malts. Aftertaste: pretty bitter and dry finish.

3/10/2011 unfiltered and a week before botteling from the tank @ Harpoon Brewery

Difference in points with the bottled verion: aroma 8, palate: 4. Little to no head, cloudy orange. Aroma: passion fruits, pineapple, yoghurt, bit grassy. MF: little to no carbon, full body. Taste: fruity, peaches, some yeast, bitter hops. Aftertaste: citrus, peaches, dry ending. Because it was not completely fermented yet, there was some more sugar left, resulting in a more balanced beer, to my liking.

Weak IPA but decent overall. More sweet than hoppy which is strange for an IPA. Would order again but not over a competing IPA.

Draft. Can’t believe I haven’t rated this one yet. Delicate florals in the nose. Pours with a decent head that fades and does not leave lacing. Slightly bitter on the tongue. About the color of a Budweiser. Not too heavy on the malt. Kind of light. Screw it, I kind of like this beer for what it is. Sessionable. Good after a long shitty day at work.

Pours a crystal clear Amber out of the bottle with light lacing and a head that quickly dissipates. Hoppy aroma is nice and the beer is crisp on the palate. Nice session beer overall.

this was poured from draft. Poured a good light orange color with a nice foamy head Good aromatics with expected tones of citrus, hops, some lemons and a slight bit of malt tones as well. While the aromas were fairly expected, they were very good as well medium/full bodied but lacking a bit in the taste area. Good feel with it and mostly citrus and hops flavors this was a pretty straightforward IPA, but it was done well. Good for when in the mood for an IPA, but it isn’t a real blow away one

Well I just might have found an IPA that I can enjoy! Served ‘fridge-cold’, this brew poured up a clear, copper-colored body with a sporty, frothy head with good retention and lacing effects. Aromas of hops and fruit (somewhat like grapefruit) and a light hint of malt on the backend. Flavors of melted caramel from the malts are well-blended with the hops and slight grapefruit taste. Medium-bodied and very easy to drink with a good bite in the aftertaste; but nothing overbearing.

One of the first IPA’s I ever had. I remember drinking this for the first time and thinking this was the hoppiest and most bitter drink I had ever had. Have had it many, many times since and cannot believe how much my palate has changed. Or maybe it’s this beer, but I’m pretty sure it’s the former.
