This copper colored ale is floral, medium bodied, with a crisp, refreshing finish. Originally our summer seasonal in 1993, it is now available year-round. Harpoon IPA was ranked atop both domestic and imported IPAs by Beer Connoisseur Magazine.

Draft. Aroma is a fresh hoppy. Appearance is a bronze coloring with a frothy, white head. Taste is sweet then the hops come in, pretty lightly. I would have liked more. I actually think my burps after drinking it taste hoppier. Palate is a little bitter, but not bad for an ipa. Overall, a pretty weak ipa.... Could have been a lot better if they left more hops in. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I very easy drinking IPA. Nothing stands out; could easily be mistaken for an APA. A serviceable IPA, but it's obvious this recipe has been around for 20 years. Back then, it was probably a unique beer...today, not so much. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Several and Dave and Jess’ wedding. Pours a clean orange with a thin, dissipating off-white head. Nose of caramel, mild citrus and apricot. Medium body, quite a bitter finish and a somewhat metallic after taste.

Face it, we all have friends that still think Heineken and Corona are premium beers. If you find yourself at a cookout with this kind of crowd, Harpoon IPA is a fine choice. It’s a somewhat scaled down IPA, with the typical IPA flavors, just not as strong as bitter as its stronger (and to most of us, better) cousins. This means you get to enjoy a decent beer without frightening off the Coors Light crowd. Not the best IPA out there, but it definitely has its place.

The aroma smells so faint,And thin.It pours a golding color. It gives a one finger head. The taste the hops has a weak flavor,And the body has a bland taste as well.It don’t has a creamy taste at all. This don’t taste like an IPA at all.Samuel Adams double agent IPL taste way better then this Harpoon IPA,And they other better IPA out there.

A- pours a very crystal clear light amber with one finger of white head that quickly thins. Decent lacing. S- faint on many fronts, but hints of malt, pine resin, floral, soap, grass and coriander. All standard. Pleasant but not anything to write home about. M- thin, relatively watery body with a sweet and mild palate. Carbonation is so-so. T- starts with floral notes, some honey and watered down malts. Spices and coriander come next with pine resin piggy backing. Ending is watery and faintly metallic. Some bitterness but mostly smooth.

Golden orange color with nice white head, not huge, but aromas of citrus like orange and grapefruit. Taste isn’t overwhelmingly bitter, but a slight citrus bitterness from the hops. At 5.9 it is very easy drinking. I could make this a session easily. Due to the freshness of the keg, I really enjoyed it.

UPDATED: APR 20, 2014 12 oz Bottle. The beer pours to a light copper color with a small white head. The aroma is mostly floral with some bread malt notes to it. The taste is mostly light with a malty aftertaste for an IPA. Overall its an OK IPA for me
