Filtered and force carbonated.
Ingredients: Water, Three malts, including a 2-row pale, Northwest Cascade Hops, and Yeast.
This copper colored ale is floral, medium bodied, with a crisp, refreshing finish. Originally our summer seasonal in 1993, it is now available year-round. Harpoon IPA was ranked atop both domestic and imported IPAs by Beer Connoisseur Magazine.

Nice clean, biting IPA. Such a great amount of bitter with a clean finish. Can't get enough of this stuff.

First off, this is a killer IPA and necessary for anyone analyzing this type of drink. very flowery with a scent of citrus and hazy alcohol effect.

Poured into a pint glass this beer has a nice copper color with a small off white head very little lacing, got a small hint of citrus on the nose and maybe a little pine from the hops taste is very much the same with the low abv this beer drinks and actually reminds me of most pale ales but thatís not a bad thing itís definitely refreshing at the end of a long hot day the only downside is the hop kick is at a minimum but all in all very drinkable

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2004 Great looking pour but loses head rather quickly. Initial taste is satisfying but gradually disappoints. Above average bitterness on the aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Pretty good. Nice golden color and head that stick to sides of glass. Definite hop aroma;clean and refreshing. Nice mouth feel, medium-high carbonation but doesnít bite. Clean hop flavor thatís balanced well with malt. Very drinkable.

I dont think I should of drank this right after having Stones IPA. Bottle, poured a mild orange and yellow, clear. Head poured a foamy white with a nice lace. Aroma was weak with this one. I tried everything. Held my hand over the glass for a good 30 secs then a big whiff, let it warm up a good bit. Couldnt get a great aroma. The bottle advertisies thats itís highly hopped, I beg to differ. Mildly hopped, but a good floral flavor. Not a bad brew for a hot day after work. Would pass on it a second time.

Great IPA, especially out of the tap. The aroma is sharp and hoppy with a nice undertone of citrus. The hops are present, but not overpowering, with a strong citrus start, good clean middle, and a lingering bitter aftertaste, the way an IPA should be. Not the best IPA out there, but Harpoon's best beer, and their flagship beer.

On tap at Brattleboro Marina Restaurant. Aroma is floral hops and malts. Appearance is golden color with a white head. Tastes heavy bitter with malts and something else which I couldnít figure out. Medium bodied. Overall, a decent IPA, but with a lingering taste which I couldnít identify.

Light, copper golden ale. Floral hoppy nose (cascades). Slight sweetness in body, hoppy, but not excessively bitter finish. Dry finish. Good hoppy American IPA, but not as extreme as some of the more recent offerings to the style.

From the tap at Crossroads Cantina, in Waterbury, CT. Light and a little bitter, a good beer to drink even at the end of a long night.
