Filtered and force carbonated.
Ingredients: Water, Three malts, including a 2-row pale, Northwest Cascade Hops, and Yeast.
This copper colored ale is floral, medium bodied, with a crisp, refreshing finish. Originally our summer seasonal in 1993, it is now available year-round. Harpoon IPA was ranked atop both domestic and imported IPAs by Beer Connoisseur Magazine.

Good strong lacing make this IPA something nice to look at while you enjoy it. A nice floral, woody, and sweet citrus aroma dominate both the aroma and the taste. a sweet and then bitter finish follows this medium carbonated brew. This one has a rough balance to it between hops and malt. I try to keep a couple on hand when I’m looking for a good ’all-around’ beer to have. Easy to find, relatively inexpensive and great with the college staple of pizza.

Am a newbie to IPAs, but found this one bland. Very little hop to it. Won’t be tempted to try it again.

Bottled. Nice amberish color with thin head. Aroma of light flowers was best part of the beer. Nothing special for the taste, with a crisp aftertaste. Medium amount of hoppiness, with a little spice. Overall a nice beer, but nothing to go out of the way for.

One of my favorite beers. This is a staple in the Boston area. This ale is quite appealing to lager drinkers because of its light body and clean finish. Very clear. Bold hop aroma, a little floral. The first thing that grabs you is the malty/barley flavor, followed immediately by a big hop bitterness. Not nearly as assertive as an American Pale Ale, but right up there with the bitterest of the traditional IPA’s. Nice, complex hop flavor. Very refreshing. This is my favorite everyday beer, especially with a pizza after a hard run. If you haven’t had it, give it a try. It’s best on tap!

A bit watery for my taste- none of the complexity of a Hop Devil or 60 Minute. Makes a good introduction to the style, though.

This is a decent but not great IPA. It hits everything you want of an IPA but there’s no ’oomph’ to it that would bring it to greatness. But to its credit, it takes all the classic parts of the IPA and balances them well and some might argue that is harder to do than the ’oomph’ IPAs. First, floral hops. Spicy too. And hints of pine. Pours a pretty thick head. Medium thinness in the body. Sweet initial taste and then aftertaste of hop bitterness. Crisp with definite carbonation. Again, not bad.

Floral aroma with a hint of pine. Average appearance for an IPA: a pale straw color with a medium head. The pine aroma becomes really apparent after the first sip, where the taste then fills out with a nicely balanced bitterness. The bitterness is offset by the beer’s other aspects, rather than some brewers who simply want to thrus hops down my throat without thinking about how it affects the beer as a whole. The finish is spicy and slightly bitter. Medium body with average carbonation. Overall, this a good IPA. Very drinkable.

Lightly golden ale with a medium-sized, white, fizzy head. Nice aroma. Well balanced IPA.

nice hoppy bitterness. flavorful palate with a pretty smooth finish. For not being a huge IPA fan, i definitely like this brew

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2007 Smells like an IPA, taste like an IPA. I’ve had both draft and bottle and found I rated them the same. Medium alabaster head with an amber color. Aroma of citrus and hops. Tastes crisp and mainly bitter. It is crisp and hoppy, I can’t find fault with that.
