A very complex Hop character. Kinda bites you in the mouth if you aren't careful. Used to be among my favorites, but my tollerance for sticky aftertasting beers has faded over the years. They leave me cottonmouth.

Clear golden beer with a foamy off-white head. Quite odd aroma for an IPA. Some hops but dominating straw notes, more like a blond. Also straw in the flavor and only very little hops. Rather thin and watery. A really disappointing IPA.

22 oz bomber. Pale golden beer, thick white head. Aroma is slightly metallic, which is never a good sign with notes of stale earthy/spicy hops that become even more so as it warms up. Light breadiness with a hint of light toastiness. Apple/pear esters and a soft earthy hop flavour. Probably suffers from a lack of freshness, but there wasn’t much going on in here to begin with.

Hey, what happened here? I had this on tap in boston and thought it was great. Anyway, pours v. light yellow, head diminishes to traces but strangely gives good lacing. Bright, clear and copper in a shaker glass. Not getting any IPA aroma. Really close to watery mouthfeel. Flavors are light but somewhat interesting. Lots of butterscotch. Some tinny macro overtones. No proper IPA bitterness in the back. Ghandi would have been a shoe salesman if the British tried to survive on this one.

This is just a pale ale. No where near and IPA. Golden amber in color. Weak hop aroma. Which means weak hop flavor. To me it almost tasted like some of the hops used might be bad. Not that good.

Bottle. Straw color, with a thin head that quickly disappears. Fruity aroma, with malt sweetness underneath. Oily mouth feel, with much more malt that hops. Little bit long and sour in the finish.

When I think IPA I think big hop flavor...and the Harpoon IPA just doesn’t seem to deliver that.

12oz bottle. Pours golden like a pale lager, with a small white head. Aroma is of hops, pine, floral notes, and malt. Taste is of soapy hops, pine, floral notes, and alcohol. Has a base of biscuity malt that fails to even this beer out. Mouthfeel is light and carbonated. What a complete mess.

Pale pour. Lots of carbonation. Fruity aroma with a bitter alcoholic bite at the finish. Breast after taste.

mild nose with some hop, not much. I like a strong IPA and this isn’t it, there’s a hop front, but a pretty thin body with not much to it, and finish. I would call this a light IPA, if that makes any sense...
