2.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
When I walk into a dive and I see bud light, bud heavy, miller, coors light, and Stella on tap this beer is on too. Good thing it is too because in that situation I would order that. But that’s the only time that would happen.

Fin gyllen farge. Frisk, men bitter med passe varighet. Litt kort i smaken. Lite fyldig og svak ettersmak.

8 fl. oz. on tap @ Bukowski’s, Dalton St. Pours clear golden with a low head. Aroma is slightly fruity malts. Flavor is malts and fruits with a hoppy finish. Pretty ordinary IPA. No major complaints.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Surprisingly uninteresting example of my favorite style. Good reddish amber appearance. After that, my impressions were that this started as a real IPA and then was cut with a lot of water. Not much malt, not much hops, none of the strong pine, grapefruit, or orange flavor I associate with American IPAs using west coast hops. Not bad, just really uninteresting. Easy to drink with lobster, but hard to get excited about. I guess I'd rather have a Bass.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
pours golden with a large frothy white head. mild floral hop aroma. taste is herbal with some understated citrus hop flavor, no discernible malt character, watery and thin, and hops are very subdued for an IPA. A fairly pleasant and easy drinking beer, but their are many better IPA's to be found.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2003 re-rate: 11/16/03 - This was absolutely awful, and my overall rating has not changed much, but this was very dry, and had an aftertaste that was much like drinking saltwater.
This tasted to me more like an English pale ale. This one had a bit of a musty old taste to it, along with the aroma. Pours nicely, but does not get many points for appearance. Pretty nice malt characters, with a bit of a hoppy aftertaste, but not enough to keep me interested.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap. Decent golden color, not too impressive an aroma. A bit of hop, but not nearly enough. Way too bland to be a decent IPA.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
IMO, this beer stradles the line between a pale ale and an IPA. A large open head quickly forms on this oh-so-slightly hazy golden beer. The aroma, while citrusy, is a bit tame for an IPA. Smooth, slightly bitter flavor just needs a little more body to carry it. Not a bad beer, but a real hop-head IPA lover might want to try something else.
