On draft, clear golden yellow with not much of a white head when I got the glass. Aroma was light and sweet with hints of fruity hops. Light bodied with a good crisp bitterness. Not strong in any way but balanced and sessionable.

Sampled at the Flour City Brewers’ Fest 2008. Harpoon IPA is a sparkling, light golden ale with a thick, fluffy, white head. The head retention is excellent. The aroma is muted by the head. I’m picking up a slight note of banana, which is odd. It certainly smells fruity. It is medium light bodied, pretty smooth, a little metallic, and the finish is dry. It has OK bitterness and a touch of sweetness. There is a grassy flavor here. It’s pretty drinkable.

Bottle. Floral earthy nose with light amber appearance. Very mild, crisp IPA with slight bitterness. A satisfying mildly hoppy brew.

Grassy, earthy hop flavors and aromas instead of citrus. Very drinkable but mild. As a pale ale this would be pretty good, but as an IPA it just doesn’t have enough hops to satisfy.

On Tap@hill tavern . Dark gold color a thin foam but persistent. Aroma is malty and notes of roasted malt. Flavor is refreshing and hoppy, mouthfeel is bitter.
