bag (84), Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 13, 2008 From bottle... poured cloudy orange with some sediment. Aroma was a light citrus. Flavor was very underwhelming... watery and weak. Smooth but no bite. Disappointing for an IPA, but still decent enough to enjoy.
kpresley77 (71), Jackson, Georgia, USA Sep 3, 2008 Bottle pours clear copper with very little head. Aroma is citrius and malt. First taste is malt with a nice balance of hops. A slight hoppy finish. Pretty good. branspra (12), Arlington, Virginia, USA Sep 3, 2008 Bottle. Very nice color with moderate head and dark yellow color. Aroma was great with strong hints of hops (citrius) and some grains. Overall one of the better IPA’s I have had and looking forward to trying it on tap soon. bhensonb (2880), Woodland, California, USA Sep 2, 2008 Bottle from Wine Cellar. Amber color with a decent white head. Aroma seems primarily resin. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is more resin than citrus. Finish turns a bit malty with some citrus. It’s a good ale. I’d do it again. WickerBrew (264), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 2, 2008 I thought this was good. Good balancing for the hops and mouthfeel, it went down pretty easy and still had a good taste. I have always heard positive things about Harpoon and you dont see them everyday around here, so thats a nice thing. Overall good and i could see myself coming back. probstk (673), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Sep 1, 2008 Sampled at Flour City Brewers’ Fest, Rochester NY. AU15/08.
App.: Clear golden, small white head.
Aroma: Really sweet apples and berries, light earthy hops, some pine and grapefruit.
Palate: Medium+ body, soft carbonation.
Flav.: Caramel and sweet fruits, lighter hop notes; dry with some bitterness.
Nicely crafted and balanced, restrained.
