COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our interpretation of this English style ale is deep garnet red in color with a distinct malt backbone balanced by a unique blend of hops. Cheers!

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of toffee, dark fruit, light tobacco and light mint. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of toffee, easrthiness, raisin and light mint with a smooth lingering toffee finish.

My bottle [12oz] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with a snowstorm of sediment and a small diminishing frothy white head. Aroma of caramel malt, somewhat bready, along with floral hops, dark fruit and a bit of alcohol. Fruity flavour (grapes, apples and more) along with bready malt, alcohol, floral hops and a bitter, boozy finish, almost harsh. Medium bodied. Quite good but I’m glad I shared it, it’s a bit boozy and harsh -- I liked it though. -- Rated via Beer Buddy.

The aroma is caramel, toffee, fruit. The appearance is deep red/brown, translucent, off-white head. The flavor is caramel, fruit, floral hops. The finish is floral hops, light sweetness. Medium in body, very slightly thick, oily mouthfeel. The floral hops don’t appear until the you taste the beer, but make their presence known thereafter. Pretty good overall.

Smells like sweetened strawberry shortcake laying out in a flower patch to ferment. Pours without much lacing and some soapy bubbles. Taste of alcohol is strong, barley bitterness present but not overbearing. Some of the caky sweetness in the smell carries through to the aftertaste. Better than some of the mediocre offerings I’ve had from this brewery but it doesn’t go much further than that. Bottle from Lebanon Health Food store, NH.

Bottle from Capone’s that I’m cracking now as I listen to Daughtry. The pour is clear deep coppery caramel colored with 1-finger off-white head. Not quite a 5. Nose is nice earthy caramel malt, spirity hops, fruit, tart slightly funky yeasty, with that "Hey, man, I;m a big barleywine, and you are going to have to deal with me" smell that we all crave so much. The flavor is big caramel malty, a bit sticky, very fruity, with big hops, caro syrupy malt that is big and bold, a solid complexity, and a complex, dense palate. This is one of Harpoon’s best whales, but you really need to be Ahab to appreciate it. Queequegs need not apply.

Bottle. Pours orangey/red with a foamy 1-finger light beige head. Aromas of citrus peel, slight juniper, caramel, and berry. The flavor is orangepeel, pine, and alcohol-soaked cherries. The aftertaste is cherry with bitter grass. Thick, full-bodied mouthfeel, and warming, with evident alcohol. Alright, but Triticus was better.

Sweet like a pear! Got this on draught at maxs after a long day of bball, squash, and being target practice for a soccer match! Pours a orangey golden color. Tastes fairly sweet with a few bitter hops mixed in at the end. Smells like sugary sugar bush with some tree blossoms thrown in there.

(draught) murky deep copper, soapy medium tan head. Nose of dark fruit, alcohol, apricot/pear, and sweet bread. Taste is creamy, dark fruit, toasty, dark brown sugar. Pretty smooth and creamy Palate. Solid, but a bit of an alcohol linger too.
