2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
On tap at Bocktown, nice pale. Is this different than the regular bohemian pilsner? Not sure. Looks like a pale american lager. Thin and creamy white head. Has a rather pleasant aroma about it. Decent carbonation. Sharp and somewhat fruity pilser sharp bite. Certainly lots of personality. Almost cake like in the presentaion.A little too much personality for this lager lover, nearly astringent on the the lager impact. Bitter biting finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dull golden semi-hazy yellow pour with ring of offwhite head is not. Sweet floral hop profile is a little fruity almost. Somewhat spicy and buttercream. Soft malt character. Decent for the style I suppose, but nothing stellar. Spicy finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Fresh bottle. Pours a crystal clear golden color with a number of effervescing streams of micro bubbles. A thick head of fluffy, snow white foam settles in slowly to a clumpy, lilypad-like patch. Ultra-sticky, pronounced, broken sheets of lacing coat nearly the entire glass. It’s a pretty looking brew. The nose starts out with bready, doughy yeast notes, followed by soft, creamy malts and fresh, grassy hops. It’s really clean and robust smelling, creamy and bready and everything a big pils should be. Flavors follow suit, with peppery, grassy hops balancing out the pale malt sweetness, while heaps of cream and soft, yeasty dough smooth things out. The palate is smooth as can be, with very lightly zesty carbonation and a body that tows the line well between substantial and refreshing. Good stuff. l really like this style when it’s well done, as this one clearly is.
