COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after the ancient god of darkness, Leviathan Czernobog is a tribute to the hardy stouts originally brewed in England for shipment to the frigid Baltic. With notes of unsweetened chocolate, molasses, and dark fruit, this Russian Imperial Stout will withstand the darked of winters.

black color, aroma of roasted malt, dark fruits, earth notes, same flavors with chocolate, coffee, slight pine hops, pretty strong astringent boozy finish, lacking the rich complexity of a good imperial stout

Bottle from sam's i think. Dark brown/black with a sudsy tan head. Nice, understated nose, dry roast, bakers chocolate, light molasses, smells less like a imperial stout and more like a dry/semi-sweet stout. Flavor is similar, dark fruit, molasses, and bakers cocoa dominate. Alcohol super well hidden. Having this blind I would guess I couldn't be higher than 6% abv. A solid stout that ill give extra points for drinkability considering its high gravity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Samís Quik Shop. Pours black with a thin tan head. Nose of roast, chocolate, molasses and some fruit, but the fruit fullness really comes out on the taste, with notes of raisin, prune, and fig. Some creamy action in there as well. Sweet, with a hint of light tartness. Tastes great.

12oz bottle. Small brown head atop black body with brown edge. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, bittersweet chocolate, some earthy, light raisin. Taste is medium sweet -- really not much happening until the back of the mouth, when roasty bitterness, earthiness and dark chocolate kick in. Medium-full body, some stickiness.

Czernobog is Harpoonís new big stout. Aroma of dark chocolate and strong french roast coffee, with some distinct hopping as well. Oily black liquid, not too thick looking. Strong bittersweet flavor, like drinking a a black coffee infused with chocolate. While it does taste strong, the full ten percent is not in evidence. Thin palate feel, but donít be fooled, this beer is dense and filling. Not in the realm of extreme imperial stouts, more like one you might find in Poland.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha conglomerate head froths and recedes leaving spider lacing. Dark chocolate and pit fruit aromas. Thin with smoky chocolate upfront turning to caramel and pit fruit before the lasting hot espresso finish.

Tap @ Pony w James, Andy, Feng. Black pour, cocoa powder head that retreats to the edge of the glass quickly. Light toasty coca, coffee and dairy on the nose with even some hops - deserving of a 9 in aroma. Palate is milky, notes of light coffee or chocolate powder, sweet and dark. I would describe it as rich and sweet yet medium bodied and a roasty, underwhelming aftertaste.

Draft at pony bar with Andrew, Brendan and Feng. Pours a deep black body with no head and light chocolate brown lacing. Aroma is deep espresso and roast. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of sweet chocolate malts, light roast. Very straight forward stout, very balanced and extremely drinkable considering the 10%.

Tap at Maxís Taphouse. Pours opaque black with a small, creamy tan head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is dark fruity esters, dark chocolate and roast malt with earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with chocolate notes, light hops and bitterness, dark fruity esters with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

For a 10% abv stout, this falls far short of expectations on the body scale. Relatively thin and watery, I would have guessed a porter if tasted blind. Some chocolate sweetness and charred woods, but not a lot going on. Pff
